Re: Using the CS in Games
Yeah, without satellite use, other confirmation is necessary before you bombard an area. It would make life easier if they were that careless, I agree. So, yeah, the point was the unbelievably ridiculous amount of power it requires to actually jam a frequency hopping radio would make a portable ins...

Re: Using the CS in Games
Radio jamming is one tactic we use when we ambush CS troops. By the time the base figures out something's wrong, we've already gotten away with the loot/ captives. So... the CS can build crazy tons of rail guns or whatever, but have no idea how to make a radio frequency hop? An emission source powe...

Salt. Always salt. It can't be found a whole ton of places and it is always vital in a medieval type situation where magic is not common place (it isn't common place, it is rare that a person know magic, let alone would be magnanamous enough to just give away magical casting for free). You need sal...

The industry standard for paint coverage is 350 ft² per gallon. There are 128 fl. oz. in a gallon, so 1 fl. oz. will cover (350/128) = 2.734 ft². There are 144 in² per ft², so multiply: (2.734 ft²)(144 in²/ft²) = 393.7 in². (Round this to 393 or 394 in² as you see fit.) So now we know how much 1 fl...

Shields are one of the things that has always bothered me. Some of the others being natural AR and SDC; I have always wanted to tie those two together. To do so, though, requires some kind of layered AR "hit bands" system to apportion blows between worn armor, natural armor, and HP. I don'...

Re: Are castles obsolete?
I actually kind of figure that magic amplifies the advantage of the castle. A "big wall" in the way is always an advantage. It may not look like it to a casual observer but, even in modern warfare, walls of various kinds are used. An example would be scatter mines: scattering land mines ov...

Re: Rituals can be made into Scrolls and here's why
Uum. I could be convinced. The way I see it, when creating a scroll you are imbuing the power into the scroll itself in a form ready to be released when read. The person reading the scroll, however, is still required to shape that power by speaking the words on the scroll. If a ritual were to be imb...

Problem with a range of 1300ft is the negative modifiers to shoot and hit something that far away. Not only seeing that far is difficult without clear terrain. Given a Cyclops is 2-3x larger than human size, which those modifiers are based on, it may be the equivalent of a human shooting at 400-600...

Does a permanent ward mean that, upon activation, the effect is permanent, or does it mean that it will reactivate indefinitely? I had always interpreted it as the former. Siege weaponry and flight? Knock holes in the walls in various places, peak through the holes to find anything that looks interesting. Once you find the good stuff you just have to defeat the wards in the immediate vicinity. Bypass the tedious series of rooms that have been warded and/or trapped.

Re: Excessively High Bonuses to Strike, Parry and Dodge
A variation rule that works too is to cap bonuses. I.E. you can have +27 to strike, but you only get to USE +10...but if your swinging blind (-10), with the wrong hand (-2), with an off balance weapon (-3), Behind you (-4)....you STILL have +10. thus defenses have a chance to work, but attackers ca...

To address to core of the issue: (IIRC) in Latin, the -um suffix is used for neuter singular endings whereas -a is used for neuter plural. Re: Attribute leveling
The short answer is no.
The slightly longer answer is that there are numerous ways that your attributes might change over time (injury, magic, &c) but the only way that they are likely to change (indirectly) related to the leveling would be the selection of a physical skill.
