Re: How to handle river of lava ?

Out of curiosity, how did this work out for you tmbn? Well, I am trying to do all of these things and it helps and restricts a little bit when they fight groups I dont really care about. Actually last mission I had to apply nexus lines with "no magic" to make the game more fun. The big pr...

Re: Fantasy Books may be on the way!

Wow! This would be great! And not to be that pessimistic I would also start believing in Santa this year. I played PF almost 20 years now and heard talks about new books every year. Some books have been hanging in Pre Order for years. I think its a secret strategy to just keep the fans of PFRPG aliv...

Undead Hunter and attacks per melee ?

I have my answer on this, but I would like to hear what you are saying on Attacks per Melee on Undead Hunter. The Undead hunter get extra attacks per melee on lvl. 5 and 10. That is addition to Palladin attacks. But the text is a little bit confusing. And its not clear how the attacks overlap. At le...

You could also look at this thread: http://palladium-megaverse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=133224 To make the game flow better you could parry once on multiple strikes, so you will not need to throw parry on every strike per melee hit at you. But hit parry once. See the link above to more det...

Re: Examples of Summoners in play?

A summoner would be very usefull being in the background like the Wizard and controlling demons to the fight. Also he could add protection to his group. A summoner could be very weak at first but the higher level the stronger he his to the group. So its up the group to protect him at start. He only ...

I am back at this thread. Thank you for all the great answers by the way! I have managed to constrain this a little bit. Also I adjusted to be used only outside where its earth. Could not be used in a second floor castle etc. I see that a lot of the answers talks about the Lava hitting their own and...

Re: Shields: are they meant to kind of suck?

Buy a 1ED book and use the Shield defensive rules there. Large shield give +2 parry at level 1. Thats pretty good. Then +5 Parry at level 5. Also think about adding magic defensive abilities to magic shields. Also a shield can be special made to have more in parry and more SDC. Remember a Shield can...

Re: Called Shots and Damage

We are playing 1st edition and we usely make it simple. The Ranger or Long Bow man have to have the Sniper skill located in Yin Sloth book. This skill make you call shots when you are ambushing and the target is not aware of the shot. The skill gives then double damage on 2 shots if I remember right.

As some here are allready sying. Diabolist can be extremly powerfull in combat since he can put wards on basicly anything! He can add double damage and double defence. And he can deliver death easy. Also remember that players can play multiple occ. This is what makes the characters powerfull. Being ...

I would much rather have Land of the Damned 3, Old Kingdoms, Tombs of Gersidi, Land of the South Winds, Phi and Lopan, Yin Sloth Jungles 2nd edition, and the Mysteries of Magic books first. It could be cool, except KEEP CHARACTER CREATION IN THE FRONT OF THE BOOK!!!! I vote on this. I would probabl...

I would like to know how you understand this spell. The spell seems very powerfull. One of my questions can the Wizard use this spell without calling the use ahead of using it. Make a kind of "City of Lankhmar" Series on Cear Itom. That would be great and make the world of Western Empire a little bit more personal and lively. This is the city of men and It would a lot going on in that city. The Western book is probably the most booring book of them all, and this ...

Attacker rolls to strike, defender rolls to parry. Rinse n repeat each time is how I play it. We announce the attack then make the player call a parry or dodge/flip/entangle/disarm or whatever before either roll is made. One thing I have just thought of that we do - if the player says he'll dodge b...
