Re: New scale for rrt?
Who said you need to decal 6mm troops? If you look at what other people did for troops in 6mm they only use a few colors and that's it. 6mm was meant for armor combat (though recently people started to do skirmish too). Where did I say you had to? Some gamers enjoy having their minis being as "...

Re: New scale for rrt?
Having seen the size discrepancy between the 6mm Invid Scouts and a Destroid in person, I can say that it's really, really jarring. The ability to paint intricate detail on the 6mm Invid is also extremely limited. You will need a microscope to see decals on a 6mm Cyclone. I think that having 6 and 1...

Think of it then those players whom I'm sure are not scared of technology will post he info and scoop pb on this big news, thus once again we backers hear news from someone else first again. I kind of figure that they are sitting on the RRT update until on/after the 16th. That will allow them to make it a big announcement not just at the Open House but also at the RRT tournament there and allows them to give the attendees the "insider" scoop before it becomes public. -MaxGravity

Re: Open House RTT questions
just got my GHQ order in today. A HEMTT fits nicely on a 30mm base and is large enough that it reinforces the scale of the mecha without looking like a clown car compared to them. The design is also suitably angular enough that it looks more sci-fi than more mainstream real life vehicles. -MaxGravity

Can we get an offical clarification on Veritech bombs?
The wording in Flyover is somewhat ambiguous which leaves me with a couple of questions. A. Are you limited to one Flyover per turn or can you conduct multiples? My gut instinct was 1 but then I got to thinking about the penalties to use imposed by the interaction of the Flyover, Aircraft and Afterb...

Are you consistently rolling low? If so, try changing dice. One of the dirty secrets of gaming is that game dice are low quality to begin with and even "good" dice wear out to the point of no longer rolling truly random within a few hundred rolls on a soft surface, quicker on the typical d...

Re: quick question on how to do missile volley with blast
Something else to consider with the pricing of the Phalanx is its relative utility. In a Destroid force, it fills a vital role providing long range strike capability for a force that is markedly slower than any of the completion and therefore merits a proportionally cheaper price than say Vertitech ...

Re: quick question on how to do missile volley with blast
The problem I have with the Phalanx is that it is a game changer and is is extremely cheap compared to the Heavy Arty Battlepod (HABP). To me, it's more a case of the Artillery Regults are almost ludicrously overpriced for what they bring to the table. I think I get what the Devs were thinking sinc...

Please do not take this as a rabid attack, but I think the rules will likely alienate a portion of the player base. I know that the VT's are the "stars" of the show, but there is a sizeable portion of the player base that favors Destroids to the exclusion of everything else. This will be a...

A mecha can never be destroyed by the automatic damage (i.e. the last point of MDC can't be the 1 or 2 points assigned for being under the template). I was tracking with you until this point. I won't be playing 'the rpg with tactics', so the character conversion rules, where a single mid level pilot might cost more than an entire VT squad isn't helpful to me, unless it's proportionally powerful for that cost (from my reading, that doesn't seem to be the case). What that translates into is that a FASTpacked Valk will fly as long as it generates enough speed to produce enough lift to offset the weight of the FASTpacks. Countering this is the parasitic drag fo the packs themselves, but there's the interesting part, drag is also a function of speed and the p...

They'd only really be usable for a straight-line ballistic flights to extreme high altitude (we're talking 80-100km+) for interception purposes. You could say that it's "possible, but not remotely practical" to use the VF-1's FAST packs in atmospheric service. In real life, the penalties ...

Re: A quick way to prime a lot of minis?
If you are using an airbrush, the dry time on primer is a lot closer to 15-30 minutes unless you just absolutely cake it on which is a bad habit anyway. Also dry times can be accelerated by using a hairdryer set on low and moving it fairy constantly so you don't get a hotspot on the model. -MaxGravity

Re: RPG?
Honestly, there's not a lot unless you are using miniatures to map out combat in the RPG. Pages 92-96 in the RTT rulebook cover interactions with the RPG and the majority of that page space is for converting RPG characters to units in RRT. Other than that, there are two small paragraphs. One reminds...

Don't get fixated on Regults, go after the force multipliers like Recon, artillery and Glaugs. Also don't forget to hug cover when possible. Regults hit most Destroids, as well as Valk B and G modes 50% of the time but if you are in light cover that drops to 1/3rd the time or 1/6th of the time in he...
