New Sci-Fi Show...
Reality programming includes Who Wants to Be a Superhero?, in which comic writer Stan Lee and Bruce Nash embark on a nationwide search for a true-life superhero.

Discuss?
Damn ICE/BCP/BorderPatrol! Damn everyone who won’t damn ICE/BCP/Border Patrol!! Damn everyone that won’t put lights in his windows and sit up all night damning CE/BCP/BorderPatrol!!!
If you support ICE/BCP/BorderPatrol at this point, you would have called the Gestapo on the people surreptitiously moving into your neighbor's attic and huffed that you were only following the law.

Real life superheroes don't exist. The closest we have is our brave men and women in the police and fire departments. And I for one am happy they are here.

I say teachers, not cops/firefighters. Teachers often have to buy their own material, deal with adolescents that would just walk out if they didn't have to be there, work horrendous overtime with no extra pay (grading papers at home, for example), and be responsible for two dozen+ kids all at the same time, and for generally less pay than a cop or fire fighter. And this is coming from someone who had a positively miserable high school experience.

Police officers may put their lives on the line, but if you offered them just room and board, I doubt you'd have a police force. There are teachers who would teach just for room and board if it meant that or a new line of work.

Those are the heroes.

Anyone who thinks more of others then himself or herself is a hero.
You don't have to do anything "heroic" to be a hero. I'm thankful
for the guy who brought me my mail when it was deliver to his house
on the other side of town by mistake. Now that's being a hero.

yeah, I suppose the real heroes are the ones that setup society such that you don't need heroes, if that makes sense to anyone.

here's to praying that terrorists don't get hold of nuclear arms.

you cant hug your children with nuclear arms
Svartalf- if Cherico were a character created in a point game system, he'd have all his scores in geeky skills and his youtube and weird net stuff schticks all paid through a a Terminal Bad Luck (with more nasty GM intervention) disadvantage, and probably an Uncouth (can not have social skills) disad as well...
In an RPG with deadly situations that character would have had to be replaced a dozen times over[

Sure you can! And, like all hugs, it leaves them with a healthy glow!

And that makes it easier to find them in dark places.
