Is this real time or Marvel time?

Real time, for my part. First Responders in by Christmas, Brothers in Arms in by the Open House. The publication schedule is pretty hectic, so they could get bumped, but I'm sure that I'll get to skip in line ahead of those hacks, Josh and Jack.

Should i be Excited? I know Dark Brandon would say yes...but I think Jason Richards said it Sucked
Who do i belive? Ive been intruged scince I saw the creepy sigs on the boards.
All hype asside, I think it should be if your interested in that area of the world or Mystic Knights. They worked hard for continuity of the rifts world.
I would be excited beyond the fact it was written by two friends because of the monsters it has which is nice if you're a GM.
the OCC's/RCC's are interesting but not game breaking so it's viable.
So, personally, even if my friends didn't write it, I would be simply because many of my games exist in NA, and I'm a sucker for a monster book.

You already know what I have to say about it, and that's all you should need really. You know I'm the final arbiter in all matters of taste...
I did post a short blurb of one, but I haven't gotten to the basics yet, thanks to being layed out by the heatwave in my hometown since Monday. It only broke by about 10-15 degrees just Thursday, and I've been trying to recover. It's no fun trying to think when you can't eat, sleep or even move without sweating to near death & the base of my spine twisting in knots. Not to mention the dry heaves.
Sorry for the graphics, folks.

I feel your pain BookWyrm I live in upstate NY so i have had the same problem all week. I barely got any thing done on my own submissions no less my campaign and posting any thing.
The Heatwave in NY slowed down my writing as well. Why? Well, I had to turn off my lapop every hour or so for a half hour so that it wouldn't overheat (it would get, literaly, scalding to the touch... damn, that was annoying.

I like the book so far except for much of Brashaw's art. It looks like he just got stoned then doodled some crap and then in it went. There are exceptions (the Phantom Wolf is great) but most of the stuff he's drawn is just plain goofy, not scarey or weird but goofy. It hurts the book as much as the awful Daemonix art hurt the Tolkeen War books.
Still... a great setting!

Yeah, but my desktop has several fans that kept it at least working while I checked my e-mail, did some things, then ran my anti-virus & anti-spyware.
I've barely been online in the past couple of days myself. My new GF had to give away her cat of 9 years, because she could afford to keep her anymore. I stayed at her place last night to keep her from going completely bug-nuts. Then a mutual freind 'disappeared' (he went into the hospital to check out some numbness in his arm) & we put out a 'keep-a-lookout' notice to all our mutual friends. We later heard what happened, so now all is well.

OK, let me get this out ofthe way while I'm sitting here with the book so close by.
PICK UP MADHAVEN!
Price: at $14.95 (not including tax), the book is a steal. With some other RPG location books pricing in the $30+ range, Madhaven doesn't bleed the wallet to the point of not-eating for the week.
Rating: 8 out of 10.
Illustrations/Maps: Also very good. The art by Kent Burles gives the book the 'haze of madness' feel that I was expecting. The Maps on pgs. 17 & 19 are just perfect, giving the right amount of generalities to keep whomever dares go there guessing. The map on pg. 44 is great, streamlined enough for quick glancing. Apollo's art on the knights? Very well done, as is Brian Manning's. Nick Bradshaw's art on the Haven Mutants--scary (but in a good way). Freddie William III's work is also of (excellent) note, as is "Russell" for the Entities (his credit was accedentally left out?).
Rating: 8.5 out of 10.
Layout/Writing: All high marks. There's just enough info here to get an adventure started, but also there seems to be something missing, which will hopefully be covered in a future issue of The Rifter. I liked the whole Knights of the White Rose section, even the Haven Mutants write up left me with chills.
