FWC/Splugorth relations...

Unread post by Braden Campbell »

Due to the terms of the Lanator Accords, the CCW cannot directly interfere with the internal affairs of the TGE. So, "officially" they do not give aid to the Free Worlds Council. (Unofficially, they just gave them a crapload of Naruni Rifles... but this was done without the Consortium Congress' approval).

So, does anyone see a huge problem with the FWC recieving aid and training from a Splugorth Kingdom... because I don't. Beggars can't be choosers, after all. And any help is better than no help.

I guess the Sploogs do this via proxy.

Covert funding, deniable mercenery corps,
and the like. (Just in the case of NGR vs. Gargoyles)

On the other hand, sploogs probably try to
insert "their" men into position, "just in case".

Oh, and one final point... Somehow I got the
impression that Kittanii hardware (being not
as relatively advanced as on RIFTS Earth,
but more like "almost top of the line") is
readily aviable on the market.

If this is the case, a healthy discount or
two is given.

That makes sense that they would get support thru whoever provided it to them And those who are providing support would go thru intermediaries to cover their identity.

As a side note, in my 3 Galaxies, there was a foruth sploog
kingdom, which provided open help for the FWC.

It is now a side note in history - the TGE dealt them swiftly,
but this gave time for the FWC to prepare for the next attack.

On the long run however, it teached a lesson for the 3 Galaxies,
not to interfere boldly into TGE internal affairs.

The Aliens Unlimited guides alos offer the use of the Splugorth as backers of the FWC, using such proxies as the Niamese ...and the possible ramifications of discovery...

Revenge-wise, backing the FWC is just too great a temptation for teh Splugorth to pass up.....they're expendable catspaws either way, and they annoy the uppity Kreeghor...Of course, the consequences are dire if the Kreeghor ever do establish a definite FWC/Splugorth relationship/alliance; they'll up the ante and move to crush the 'minions' while upping their propoganda to the CCW and other powers, showing up the evil of the Splugorth and trying to get as many anti-Sploog powers and politicians siding with them...

Of course, the Kittani, being so good at knocking of other people's tech, don't necessarily have to package war material to the FWC with a Kittani/Splugorth signature....they may just ship the workings of good, cheap, Kittani (and Rifts Earth) arms in IMperial Legion casings(or otehr disguise), and reserve the stylish Kittani-siged gear for times when it will make a statement(like getting the FWC to give them concessions in return for 'top of the line' Kittani wargear).

How very spugorthian, to strenghten the enemy of yoru enemy. I expect they would support the FWC particularly if the TGE is pressing their boarders.

It makes total sense for those sploogies to use Proxies.

IT 's one used in our own world a lot of the time.

Don't forget about those random few Kreegor who don't see things the same way as all the others. Maybe They would also be keen on the idea of throwing a little support the FWC's way, of coarse it would all be through proxies as well ...and then only for those times when they think their help will turn the events towards their selfish\evil favor.

While we do not have a detailed working of the TGE,
yet I can perfectly imagine both defecting kreeghors
as freedom fighters, and Royal Kreeghor governors
to slip vital informations about their rivals under the table
to the FWC.

Somehow I think that the TGE still does feel the importance
of the FWC, so they do not use the proper resources.

The FWC and two Royal Kreeghors - both of them are
loyal to the TGE, and in high position - would readily
kill each other in any combination.

One of the combinations is like Lord A (RC) hates
Lord B (RC), so when he gets when he will travel
near to the FWC territory, he slips that information
to the FWC.

And then... Well, he might appear with his personal
fleet at the ambush site - both to make sure that
Lord B is dead, dead, dead - and then chase away the
rebels, so he can be a hero.

And we are just beginning to delve into TGE internal
affairs, right?

That is my take on the TGE too. There seems to be a lot of in fighting going on there. Someone always working to get themselves closer to the Emperor and his circle.

Yeah, it ddoes cause some problems by those who want the power that is not theirs to be had. I had that happen in one game, a player lost sight of the game and wanted political power that was not his. And of course he carried this out of the game into real life. He was just a pain to deal with, luckily he is premanently exiled from the group!

But we all know that the FWC will take any help they can get. Although I think if they knew where some of it came, it might cause them to hesitate to continue to recieve support from those nasty ones.

While they are happy to help killing a royal kreeghor
or two, it also must be noted, that they were also
double-crossed during the years.

That makes most people think twice.

Looking at the Silouette RCC and the TGE Imperial
Security Agent OCC, I guess being paranoid in
the FWC means you are alive.

The another possibility is dying a natural death.

I mean it is just natural to people to die when
shot in the back with an MDC blaster...
