IF YOU found Yourself in RIFTS Earth...

Where YOU end up upon emerging from the Rift ??
How Afraid would YOU be at First ?? After a Year ??

Now that you have settled into the world of Rifts, and learn about the Local Area where YOU came through too.
What JOB would YOU try to seek to Learn ??
Would YOU seek to Upgrade YOUR Body through through Bionics/Cybernetics, Juicer Process, M.O.M. Implants, or some other weird process to become More than Human ????
Would YOU Join a Merc Group or Join a Military or other group to get your Upgrades or Training ??

Where YOU end up upon emerging from the Rift ??

I'd prefer to end up in a more peaceful section of The Burbs, or in Lazlo, at first.
Just so I'd know where I was and realize that I was suddenly in Rifts Earth.

If I came out where I am now, I'd be in the Magic Zone. :(

How Afraid would YOU be at First ??

Terrified.
Also fascinated and thrilled.

After a Year ??

Most of the terror would have worked itself out by then, but I'd still be fascinated and thrilled.

Now that you have settled into the world of Rifts, and learn about the Local Area where YOU came through too.
What JOB would YOU try to seek to Learn ??

I'd likely end up a Vagabond.
Although I'd try to learn to be a mage or psychic.

If I could get the knack of it, I'd make a great techno-wizard.

Would YOU seek to Upgrade YOUR Body through through Bionics/Cybernetics, Juicer Process, M.O.M. Implants, or some other weird process to become More than Human ????

Definitely!
Just subtle stuff, though. I wouldn't be a Juicer or Crazy or Borg, but I'd get as many cybernetic implants as I could without compromising my humanity and appearance.

Would YOU Join a Merc Group or Join a Military or other group to get your Upgrades or Training ??

Nope.
Not on the frontlines, at least.
I'd try to find someplace that would hire me on as an advisor, since I happen to know a lot about Rifts Earth. :)

I don't think I'd do to poorly.

It would take me a while to adjust, but I think I'd survive so long as I don't appear in front of a group of demons...

First off I am in California wich is in the New West.
I do not give in to Fear very easily, in fact I have a very level head. After about a year I would be living comfortably as I have practical skills among other traits.
As far as Jobs go I can perform most farm jobs although I readily admit to not knowing how to rope. I'm also a decent Hunter of game animals. I guess that I would be considered a Headhunter( Most likely a Moe, as I study my supernatural lore).
I am apposed to augmentation via Bionics( I would never do Juicer or MOM conversion).
I would more likely start my own Mercenary outfit, in the manner of "The Regiment".

If I were to assume only temporal displacement, then I would be near the Perth tech-city of Rifts Australia.

I would adapt well, after the initial shock. Should have settled in quite well after a year.

I might try to learn something in the "Adventurers" category, Rouge Scholar perhaps.

I'd definitely seek some form of improvement, as I suffer from a chronic illness. This would be corrective treatment, not an attempt to make myself into some form of "superman".

I might join a group of freebooters or hiredguns, not a full merc unit, as I would consider myself a liability in full combat.

Lets see IF i arrived near where i am now...FLORIDA...i'd be in a swamp. Which is cool, i like swamps.

I do like the new naighbors though. Dinos and Slavers ;)

Would i be scaried ??
Lets see, i was Just sucked through a RIFT...yeah i'd be scaried. It might take me a good while to figure out Where the Heck i am though, and not just in the Past or an Alien planet.

After a Year ??
Depends if i actually meet up with anyone or not i guess and did not get eaten or enslaved :D

Once i figured out where i am, whats what and where. I could adapt i guess pretty well. I might became know as a Wilderness Scout or Woodsman.

I would be willing to trade my services for FULL BIONIC CONVERSION though. Either as a Mining Borg or as a Sheriff/Deputy. As a Miner i'd learn a new trade that does not require combat. As a Sheriff/Deputy Borg i'd help bring peace to a town/community.

If i was found by a MERC Company and joined up, i'd see about getting me a Combat Borg Body ASAP...

Amny around here are attached to the Flesh and bits and pieces. But Heck, The Power of a Power Armor, all the time is cool. I always like ROBOCOP...now i can be one...

The great thing about being a BORG is the Modularity. Being able to change out limbs, hands, and Weapon systems easy enough.

Here a Sample of what i might look like as a BORG :
Classic Red Borg

Custom Job 1

Custom Job 2

Custom Job 3 -- Triax Maurader custom

Basic Custom Job 4

Custom Job 5 -- Merc ohh yeah.

Custom Job 6

Custom based on Red Borg / Warlords
Custom based on Red Borg/ Warlords Blue Eyes though.

If I showed up on Rifts Earth,

I would be in a world of hurt. Where I live, The Avalon, on Newfoundlands east coast, I would be on a series of small broken Islands. Most likely infested with D-Bee Pirates or worse yet, Minions!!

So, if i managed to live long enough, I might be lucky to get to a Pirate camp rule by some sort of Human. *I Hope* maybe then work for him, till I could get out of there, and make my way to the Mainland section of Canada somewheres.

Over all, Not a good start for me. But, I would try and get some Bionics of some sort tho.

I live in Omaha, Nebraska. Is there anything here?
Maybe I'd go to see if anything at Offut remained...
If not then a hike to either Chi Town or CS Missouri.
After that, MoM conversion or Borg maybe.
Anything to increase survival.

If we end up in the exact same spot as we live in real life, like some people seem to be suggesting, then I'd have to change my answer to: The middle of the ocean and my OCC would be "struggling for breath".

I'm pretty sure New Zealand doesn't exist on Rifts Earth :-(

New Zealand should still be there.
Water levels only rose 10 meters or so...actually when you look at the maps. Even then its only in a few places too and not everywhere...otherwise the Mississippi would be much larger than what we see in the maps...

You can arrive anywhere on RIFTS Earth though...

Hows about Mexico City ;) :D

Assuming that I did not end up in Splurgoth infested London, but somewhere on the NA continent...

If I survived more than a couple of hours, I would try and make my way to whichever of the following is nearest... Lazlo, Kingsdale or Merctown. I would then beg/bribe/steal/sell myself into indentured servitude to get a Cold Blooded conversion.

Once I am sorted out with that and get used to my new abilities, which would take a year or so, I would work to pay off the conversion, or skip out on my "sponsors" if I could get away with it, head to Lazlo (if I am not already there) and join some level of militia.

If I did end up in the UK I would make a bee line for a millenium tree and try and get under the protection of the tree and the druids... possibly becoming one of them in time.

From Mercenary Adventures... replace the blood with a magical potion, turning the character into a semi-undead. robotic strength, all sorts of resistances, excelent regenerative abilities, and the ability to hurt vampires with bare hands... all it costs is a good chance for an insanity, the loss of all body temperature, some penalties in 92+ degrees farenheit, and the loss of some memories...

As far as I am concerned its the best conversion process by far.

1) At most 1 insanity (serious save bonus against getting anything else)
2) Robotic, not augmented strength
3) MDC with some really cool regenerative aspects
4) Semi-undead so nice and creepy in theme
5) Lives off raw meat, blood, and bones, including roadkill
6) Resistance to MD Electrcity and Cold
7) Ability to hurt vamp with bare hands

and thats just for starters. A decent skill set finishes off perhaps the coolest, IMO, R.C.C. I have seen for a non-total-munchkin game. Without question I would take being turned into a Cold Blooded (conversion avialable in a lot of places) over M.O.M. implants and the resulting multiple insanities, juicer conversion and a short life, or full borg conversion, and, to be blunt, never experiencing "relations" again.

If I appeared where I lived now, I would be about an hour east of Toronto, so I would probably head out that way, maybe join the Tundra Rangers, head up north, if I was rifted elsewhere, maybe head out to the New West and learn the way of the gun. Possibly try to combine, gun slinger with operator. Would I be scared when I first arrived, probably, after a year, nope! I'd be to busy trying to stay alive, no time to be scared :D

Well, I guess it is, but everything in SA1 and SA2 just seems a tad munchkiny to me. Just my opinion of course - and getting made into a Cold Blooded would be far easier to accomplish than being made into an Anti-Monster.

If i found myself in RIFTS CHINA...
I'd jope i'll become a Spirit Host PCC.

Something about that PCC clicks with me.
Tiger or Dragon spirit host :D (see my Spirit Host thread for what i'd look like )

--------

If i found myself in South America...
i might hook up with the Inca Empire.
Hope to get one of those magic SUN amulets that transforms you into a Golem with Fire/Plasma Abilities...
Or go for Robot/PA Pilot while there and learn to Pilot the NAZCA PA. I love its design btw ;)
I'd be perfect fit for it at 5'7"...not too tall to use it and risk cramps

---------

If i appeared somewhere else in the US areas...
I might run into and hook up with Native Americans (hey i'm Half-Native American already, Mom's full blooded).
If Traditionals...i'd hope to learn either the Spirit Warrior or Totem Warrior classes...they are cool.

------------

If i appeared in RUSSIA !?!?!...
I'd hope i'll become a Mystic Smith...i like them.

After screaming oh s..t, oh s..t alot. I would likely try to be a power armor pilot or a military scout.
If I could have what I want I would be a MDC, superpowered merc.

Where YOU end up upon emerging from the Rift ??
Seeing as I already live in Toronto, probably would emerge in Lazlo

How Afraid would YOU be at First ?? After a Year ??
Probably. And probably stay in Lazlo

Now that you have settled into the world of Rifts, and learn about the Local Area where YOU came through too.
What JOB would YOU try to seek to Learn ??

Probably use whatever job skills I have and get a job

Would YOU seek to Upgrade YOUR Body through through Bionics/Cybernetics, Juicer Process, M.O.M. Implants, or some other weird process to become More than Human ????
Maybe learn some techincal skills or magic

Would YOU Join a Merc Group or Join a Military or other group to get your Upgrades or Training ??

Ya' know...I think I've decided I'm going to be a vampire...hopefully a secondary one...I don't think I'd enjoy being a wild vampire...

And yes...I'd be okay with drinking your blood. Yes...I mean you...

Yeah if i hooked with Native American i'd try and become a Spirit Warrior.
Realms of Power...Earth, Plant, Air...
They have kick arse Bio-Regeneration too.

Fire and Animal i could live with instead of Air though...
They innate Flight of Air though is cool...

I always joke that you should have at least one survival skill which you can offer to a post-apocalyptic warlord in exchange for protection.

Mine is the ability to make antibiotics and aspirin from bread mold and tree bark. Napalm is easy, but aspirin is tricky.

A quick reading of "The Postman" should give us a pretty unfortunate idea of how internet loving book-nerds do come an apocalypse, add to that bloodthirsty vampires, and I'll just have to say that Knowing Karl Prosek's stats aint gonna help, I think all of us would do much better staying home.

Just have to worry about stuff that you DON'T recognize.

If not then a hike to either Chi Town or CS Missouri.
After that, MoM conversion or Borg maybe.
Anything to increase survival.

Hey, i'm also Im Omaha, well Plattsmouth.

Closest things in Rifts around here would be either the 1st Apocalyptic Cavelry in New West, or Kingsdale in Rifts:Juicer Uprisings.

Me, I'd travel to Kingsdale and become a Techno-wizard apprentice. Of all the things in Rifts, im most drawn to them.

My twin brother wishes he could be a Mystic Knight of the White Rose, but outside of Manhattan, that might be tough.

I live in bowmanville which is about 10 min west of Newcastle. I would aslo end up in lazlo and try my hand as a ley line walker or failing any magical eptitude, rouge schollar.

First arrived thrilled, "rifts and magic ar real I knew it" after a year scared to death as I well and truly realize just how dangerous and difficult it is to survive rifts earth.

You know...
I would not mind being a Psychic PCC or a MAgic OCC either.

Say i train myself. Burster, Zapper, Mindmelter or Ley Line Walker or Mystic...

Then get turned into a Transferred Intelligence Robot. They keep their ISP/PPE and the ability to use it.

Best of all Worlds maybe...

I'd probably die quickly after that,though... :-( :?

My only real chance is to go to Lazlo from here (Tax-achusetts) and see if I can become one of the following:

1) Psychic (Getting awakend may be a very cool thing!)
2) Mage, any type...
3) Full Conversion Borg
4) or Rogue Scholar

Where YOU end up upon emerging in Rifts Earth?
I would appear 300ft from Fort Campbell's fence. No really i can see it out my front door. Now i'm sure it's been salvaged to death. Then again mabe not since you know Ft. Campbell is bound to be ground zero for one attack during the last big war. :nuke: Also their are quite a few underground storage areas. And i know all of them. :ok:

How afraid would you be at first? After a Year?
It would crush me that my wife and kids were gone. Fear is not a real issue, oh i would be scared. But one of the first things i learned as a Ranger is if you focus on the mission at hand you can use fear. work through fear and pain. No what would get me would be the depression of losing that which i care for most.

Now that you have settled into the world of Rifts, and learned about the Local Area where YOU came through too. What job would you try to seek to learn? I was any soldier for most of my life. I'm a black smith/wielder/machinist in my spare time, and i can operate and repair most heavy equipment. I'm an avid hunter and survivalist. I'm not going to list all the military schools i went to. their is no OCC. that fits. But I'm sure some village or township could use my help.

Would YOU seek to Upgrade YOUR Body through through Bionics/Cybernetics, Juicer Process, M.O.M. Implants, or some other weird process to become More than Human? I have no problem with cybernetics or bionics. Heck the only processes i would avoid would would be those that cut short my life or drive me mad. As my wife say i'm way to dangerous to be allowed to go mad.

Would YOU Join a Merc Group or Join a Military or other group to get your Upgrades or Training?
Hell ya, There isn't a weapon today i can't use. And i would jump at the chance to learn new ones. Oh and power armor :D :ok: I would fight to get a chance to pilot any of those. I think i would have a problem with monstrous D-bees. Sorry, if that seems callous. Hell, how am i to know which ones would eat me or those i decide are mine to protect. If something prove safe or trust worthy no problem. But I'm not going to walk around giving everything or one the benefit of the doubt. If they are in an army or merc unit I'm in then they are not monsters or D-bees there soldier, and all soldiers are just green in my eyes.

Well, if I was there with my family, I would take my experience in agriculture, aviation maintenance, and ability to read to the closest town that appears to be moderately safe and try to strike it big there. If I came by myself...Mega Juicer or Full Bionic Conversion. I'm sure I'd have enough pristine condition "pre-rifts" artifacts in my pockets to afford it...if not, I'd be an indentured soldier for a few years...maybe go deserter if I'm a juicer and probably stay in if I like it and I'm a borg...
There should be a specific sub-forum of the Rifts forum dedicated to the only hope for salvation of the human race, the Coalition States.

It really depends on if I rift out where I am at the moment, or my ideal place.

If I rift in to RE close to where I am now, I would be in the Dinosaur Swamps near what would be left of the ruins of Augusta and Fort Gordon.

If it were my ideal place, Lazlo all the way baby. A haven for learning and understanding, not to mention magic.

I would be fool if I weren't afraid at first, or even a year later. But I have never been one to let me emotions control me, so I hope I would do alright.

Again it depends on where I came out at. If it were in the Augusta area, either a Wilderness Scout, or an Operator. Anyone who knows me in real life would be laughing at the Wilderness Scout comment due to the fact that I am not much of a outdoorsman and get tend to get fidgety away from all of my devices (computer, internet, etc.), but I could make it work if I was force away from all of that. And Operator is a natural choice for me due to the fact that is the closest thing to what I used to do in the military.

If come out of a rift near or in Lazlo, that's a different story. I would first try my hand at becoming a Ley Line Walker (that is if coming to RE doesn't awaken any latent magic/psychic abilities, aka Mystics, Mind Melters, Bursters, etc.). Failing that, I would become a Rogue Scholar.

Would I upgrade my body? It really depends on what OCC I become. Any magic using class or Rogue Scholar, then no. But as a Wilderness Scout or Operator, I would like to get Multi-Optic Eyes. I have always liked the ability to zoom in, see the world in Thermal Imaging, have Passive Nightvision, have the ability to see on the microscopic level (macro-lens), and polarized filters. As a Wilderness Scout, the telescopic lens, passive nightvision, and thermal imaging would be the best. As an Operator, the macro-lens and thermal imaging would be the most used functions.

Would I join a Mercenary Group. I don't know, maybe.
Under the Pain of Death
I would Stand Alone
Against an Army of Darkness
And Horrors Unknown

Between my military, druid, kenjutsu-do training and my Gassan daisho, I think I'd do all right.
I'd load up my 12 gauge with silver flechettes, get some armour, and I'd be in business.

As for the where, it would be in Colorado.
Scared?
Challenged might be a better term.
Upgrades? Maybe. Depends on how much it would enterfere with anything else I might gain.
Eyes without life, maggot-ridden corpses, mountains of skulls... these are a few of my favourite things.
