tough call. They are all so different...

- Warlock Marines are really well trained, and with their suit of powered armour, kick a lot of ass. They really are an army-of-one

- the TGE Legionnaires are the Three Galaxies equivilent to the Red Army: brute power and vast numbers, backed up by the heaviest armoured vehicles around

- the CAF have some of best all-around training (skill set), and start with the best energy rifle and personal body armour in the game, but haven't seen a full out war in over 500 years, so they tend to kind of wussy

...but I went with the lower tech, constantly beaten down under dogs of the FWC. Maybe it's because I'm exploring their roots with my Open House games, or maybe its their snappy green uniforms with the long coats, but I love those guys.

FWC ground-pounder.
Why?
Cuz when you have that little in the way of standerdized equipment, you learn how to make the best use out of anything at hand.

I voted for the CCW trooper!
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

Italian design, German execution.

TGE Legionnare---Sure, you're hated, you're abused, you're constntly spied upon and tested by the thought-police, you're tortured and shot for disobediance, but you're unencumbered by clumsy rules of engagement and the moral crisis of individual thought...Your job is simply to win, regardless of the cost(or the means), and should you ever falter and question your orders, or feel guilt for what you've done, no uncertainty about your future; you're dead.
Knowing you're the dregs, the most wrteched of the wretched, the finest damned, that you'll be dead if you lose and forgotten if you win means you fight to the bitter end because it's all you got left in your miserable existance.

Looks Like the warlock marines are the most feared troopers in a given battle, with the CAF trooper playing the role of good guy the least effective combatant.

Well, warlock marines are feared, because they
are the Unknown, with a capital U (you know,
magic users... each have his own dirty trick).

CAf forces are feared at least - but that is not
becuse of their lack of effectiveness.

Nope. they are the ones, you can surrender to,
and spend the rest of the fighting in a relatively
well equipped POW camp (to be executed by your
own regime, after the war sometimes).

Of course, going against Noro psi-warriors or
Wolfen shock troops, or getting your flagship
swarmed by Silverhawks quickly proves that
the CCW/CAf keeps itself to the old saying:

Si vis pacem, para bellum
(cca: If you want peace, prepare for war)
-------------------------------------------------------

I guess the "least feared" award goes to the
Golgan Republikan Guard.

I didn't know that about Hugo Boss. Thank you for filling in that detail. I know a little storm trooper who admires the men who wore them. Luckily for me that little neo is afraid of me, so I don't have to worry about seeing him very often.

A little history lesson usually does the trick.

(Mind you, from my perspective, while the
world is happier without the III Reich and
the Axis, the Allies have their own skeletons
in the closet.)

But be objective. The SS uniforms were designed
for effect, and in this regard they are outstanding.

Just like the uniform in the USN submarines.

Check out 'Fields of Glory'...a movie about French 'Colonials' in WW2...
I've heard the comment in the 70s and 80s movie makers thought that all the WWII films had been made....Now we have a slew of films(Saving Private Ryan, Flags of Our Fathers/Letters from Iowa Jima, Fields of Glory, The Great Raid, etc,...) that tackle episodes of it with great detail and understanding, possibly because modern film makers are realizing that the generation that fought that war is not going to be with us much longer....

...Which is too bad, since by the numbers, the Republikan Argosy is the third-largest space fleet in the Three Galaxies (behind the CCW and the TGE in that order).

I believe Naruni Enterprises comes in fourth...

And Germany is just begins to face that war objectively,
not too mention the former east block countries.

Stalingrad, Das Bot...

There is even a movie (at least I have seen trailers)
about the Yamato battleship - a Japanese war movie.

There is much more to be told about that era. But I guess
we are getting really off-off-off topic.

Well... The Warlock Navy probably have the Fourth place
even by the numbers.

If one looks the power of the fleets, the Warlock Navy
firmly holds the third place (not counting in the Promethean
forces, nor the core powers, I guess).

That is true. But Braden can't really tell us too much without spoiling the surprise to us. Although unless he confirms that the Golgan fleet is more powerful than the UWW, we have to aseume that UWW is the thrid most powerful fleet.

I have the gut feeling, that had the Golgan Republic
such overall morale as the UWW, not to mention a
capable and charismatic leader like King Silverlight,
they would make the UWW to hard sweat for the third
place.

But the Republic is quickly disintegrating, sunk in
buerocracy, and general attitude is cynical, to the
point of depression.

But maybe they vie for third and depending on how ship production occurs during the preceding year.

Can be very effective - depending on the
individuals tasked with the job.

Of course there is a margin of error, but the
deterrence factor makes it up.

There are two important factors:
1, Wolfen mentality. Lupines are more pack-minded
than primates, more rigid and defined hierarchy, and so on.
Do the math.

2, Do not make the mistake that the outcome
to be found guilty by a Quatoria only means
death.

For my part, the jury itself looks a flawed idea.

Good intentions, but flawed.

Somehow, it works well enough thought (or not
bad enough to get rid of it :D).
