You got Splicers in my Rifts!
I am a big fan of Splicers. Their crazy biotech is a fun departure from the guns / robots of most scifi. I have been considering running a Rifts campaign where the nano-plague was actually launched during the Golden Age of Pre-Rifts and now everyone but Archie is sporting Splicer gear.
I love the image of Dreadguard Karl Prosek and his army of half idiot Biotic Dead Boys doing his bidding as the Federation of Magic warps cute little bunny rabbits into hideous Warmounts that roam the lands devouring and reproducing themselves!
Have you used anything from Splicers in your Rifts games? What did you use? Did you change anything from Splicers to make it work better or more balanced for your Rifts game?

Well I suppose it all depends on how you look at it right? Splicers could have easily been a dimension book. Just chop out the rules. In my point of view, being a Rifts fan and all I see all the various lines that Palladium produces as viable dimensions to take the characters too. I've ran a group from Rifts on a sort of scavenger hunt through various dimensions. They went to Robotech, Manhunter, Phase World, and Palladium Fantasy. Later on they even went to Hades
Spinachcat did a great thing. He took two books and combined them to make a unique and cool setting. I applaud him
To answer your question, no I have not used Splicers, but I've been testing stuff like Hades, Dyval, and some of the new PW material. Although I'm sure I will use it some day.

I voted against this idea, Rifts is already a giant mish-mash of genres. Rifts was designed and built with the idea of magic in mind while Splicers was made with the purpose of being a magic free setting. Don't get me wrong, I like to combine settings, but I also like to maintain some amount of purity to the original ideas.

If its in another dimension then it's not Rifts. Besides, as duck-foot said they already have splugorth bio-technology.
On the other hand my inner-munchkin demands Host armor with spell casting abilities or even bio-wizard created "Spirit of Light" Host armor!
Now that I think about it wouldn't a engineer who learned magic be on the right track to becoming a bio-wizard!

If thats the case then they need to finish Rifts:Palladium fantasy:Land of the Damned 3 and while they are at it how about the Old Kingdom book, damn, I'd even settle for a little Rifts:Palladium fantasy:Land of the south-winds article in the Rifter (canon material only). Sadly its the only 20+ year old fantasy game I can think of that has just enough material to be a full setting.

For those that missed what derailed this topic this would be it.

Hell yeah...
My current game mixes the various Gamelines into one setting.
Rifts ( Ley Lines and Rifts ) (mesh mash of differant settings)
After the Bomb (Empire of Humanity replaces CS) (Huge Mega-City around the Great lakes almost)
Heroes Unlimted 2e (City of Supers like Centry Station) (Large Comic Book Styled Mega-City)
Robotech / Macross II (Un Spacey and the RDF in Alaska)
Splicers (4 Houses in the Carribean area)
Chaos Earth (NEMA in Georga - in a Mega-City the size of the State)
Palladium Fantasy (The Fantasy OCCs are the "normal" People)
Nightbane (Nightlords Control Atlantis instead)
Beyond the Supernatural 2e ("Normal" People inside the Mega-Cities)

Very Little of "RIFTS" has made it into my mish mash of Settings.
The Mega-Cities of the Empire of Humanity are like the Judge Dredd Movie. Vast Cities. AtB Equipment for the Empire of Man.
The Mega-City of NEMA is exactly like the City found in the new Appleseed Movie. Its more peaceful and orderly. Too orderly for some
The Mega-City of Centry Station take a page from comic Books. Picture Metrolpis to gotham city from the Superman/Batman cartoons. You have the Downtown and the Dreggs sections.
Un Spacey does not have any Mega-cities. The crash of the SDF-? is in the bay near Archridge. The only Military Power to still use Jets. Of course their's turn into Robots Only Power with MD handweapons. All their MD weapons are Mecha Designs.
Atlantis. Nightlords Took over Atlantis years ago. The Dark itself arrived for a few hours before the Nightbane drove it back.
In the caribean, The Splicers House that came to Rifts over a hundred years ago arrived in Florida's swamp. They set up shop there. Some 50 years ago or so, Several factions left and claimed their own terroritories. All the Houses meet in Cuda (Cuba, named Cuda after the Barracuda). The original House is still the strongest. Only they have noticed the nano-plague is gone, and teamed up with several ex-Nema scientists to create a new series of Bio-Armors...The Wrathenors.
Kingdom Of Tolkien aka Federation of Magics...
Picture Lord of the Rings, add in MD Magics. No TW here though.

Other things i save for Player Characters to pick.
One Player wanted to be an Anti-Monster. So i let him. No SA Nations of great Power in my setting. More like Cities States. They try hard to protect themselves but lack the resources to protect themselves outside of their cities.
I can Post a Map :

I forgot to mention my Centry Station Mega-City uses Skraypers.
28% of the Humans have Super Powers. Using the Seeron Humans info.
12% of those with powers are Bio-Freaks, using the Bio-Freak info in skraypers.
Their are several Blaze in the City too...

Yeah, gives me an excuse to say:
"Thats not in my game."
"That did not happen"
"That sounds cool, you invented (helped invent) this....." (about something from the books)
among other things...

I always try to figure an angle to bring new material into Rifts..Splicers is no different and too good to pass up...
From the urban warriors of The Big Apple hobnobbing with the mutant clans of Madhaven to displaced Invid biotech warmachines duking it out with the Arkhons over Mars, I'll use whatever I can get my hands on!

I'm ignoring "Mutants in Orbit" completly though.
Instead i have an "Energy Field" right at the point where when you fly high enough you see the stars, that shortcurcuits electronics (shielding does not help for some reason). Satitlites and be launched into orbit, but the energy field absorbs the signals both ways...
Rifting must be done Planet to Planet or Planet to Moon.
All "Dimensions" are really distant Planets in our universe.
True Atlantians colonied 13 Worlds...
Earth is the 13th World. The "Lost World"
Seeron (Skaypers) is the 12th World. "Another Lost World"
Splicers Planet is the 11th World. "Another Lost World"
Phase World was the 10th World. "Another Lost World"
Wormwood was the 9th World. Not Lost. They just avoid it now.
-------
-------
Beyond the Supernatural is our World "Earth"
Nightbane Earth is our world "Earth" if you have the insight to see who is in control.
Heroes Unlimited is our World "earth" in the near future...after the Nightlords leave or are forced out.
Chaos Earth is our world "earth" after the Golden Age of "Supers"...
Rifts is our world "earth after the Neo-Dark Ages Ends...Magic returned in Force...back to pre-Atlantian levels.
Palladium Fantasy is our World "Earth" before the "Great Flood", but After the Atlantians came (ie humans) and destroyed the magic levels somehow...

Forgive me but I like my post apocolyptic pure. I even boycott rifts stuff that i dont want to include in my rifts stuff.

Petrified wood just because we could.

Rifts is not "Post-Apocolyptic" really.
You have the Golden Age (Pre-Rifts)
You have the Dark-Ages (The actual Post-Apocolyptic part)
Then you have the PA-era which is the Recovery Era.
My Post above was about the Eras/Settings was something we here came up with Long Long time ago. (1998-2000)... It goes back to the Old Boards even...
But then again...My Games is a Mish Mash of the Settings.
Cool "RIFTS" aspects can be used by the players if they wish too...

Try not to be so rude Duck-foot! You own plenty of example of the Worldbooks. Use them as an example. Build your netbook like they are organized.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"
"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."
"As you will it, your Grace."
