I was thinking of ways to cut costs and camping out was one thought.
Does anyone know if there's a place nearby that we can pitch tents?

the other thing is that for one person, the price of a campground is not that much lower than just getting a room at a cheap motel. If you can find a KOA or Similar campground you can get a spot for six people for like 30$ a night, but the cost is the same for one person. In that case, just get a room at a sleep-ezy motel for the same price and enjoy the AC.

..Last year it was pretty chilly in the morning and the evening when we went too and from the motel. Find some people at the Ramada that will split the room cost with you, that's how to do it; when I went to the national Scholastic Chess Tournament in Atlanta back in '91, we had six guys in a double room, cut costs down quite a bit; I had to sleep on the floor, but at least it was a room.

My gaming buddies keep looking at me weird when I ask them if they want to be the big or little spoon, I cannot figure it out.

Somehow methinks they aren't going to be too receptive when they finally figure it out...
Then again, I don't know your group.

If it doesn't creep you out, you might think about going in on a room with a few others. I don't know how the Ramada feels about this sort of thing, but I've been to cons where people would sleep 6 in a room.
I have one friend who gets a room, then invites a bunch of people to crash there and split costs. He brings a sleeping bag and sleeps in the closet. (Seriously)

Personally, I think that we have a duty as role-players to try to anchor each other to reality a bit. To keep other gamers from being complete freaks and weirdos, or even psychopaths, if we can. Killer Cyborg
