Wicked.

Too bad the proofs are lost.

I wonder if Palladium might ever get into the mini-game market. Perhaps through Wizkids?

That's some great work!
Especially the scratchbuilt AFVs....

Anyone remember a minuatures site that had various oddball combinations in combat...including an X-Com alien invasion of a Rifts village defended by He-Man and a Coalition patrol?

I know a guy who could redo the originals (for a price).

I wonder...if I offered to pay for the greens to be redone if Kev would take 'em.

If we threaten him with a doggy pile... I'm sure he'd submit.

Seriously though... If we could just get a prototype to him and let him have a look... it might just work *fingers crossed*.

Depending on the sculptor I've heard cost can range between $250 to a $1000 dollars a piece just for proto-type greens, and some can get a lot more.

IIRC, for small ones, the greens cost around $350 or so for the guy I'm thinking of. I'm going to shoot him an email and see.

How much interest is there in miniatures for Rifts?

Probably depending on the Miniature. I know the GB and the SAMAS are sort of the popular ones. Outside of that, not sure.

I still want my 6-12" tall, die cast, chrome, special edition Glitter Boy. With full articulation and "sonic boom" action Boom Gun.

Start a poll and find out, by the way I would like some.

28MM scale all around is the best scale because that would allow for better sizing with vehicles with out getting ridiculous for cost (looks across the "pond").

MEH, not a big fan of the clix, but then again....*ponders*

Something like what D&D and Star Wars is doing would cool, slightly harder plastic or resin would also be prefered.

I don't know how well the Rifts rules could be adapted to make the sort of RPG / Minis interoperability that D&D/SW have.

Hmm, I wonder about Century Station HeroClix?

If you use them as props they will work great if you use them to stage battles then you'd need to streamline or somehow change the rules.

Actually near the Christmas season, me & Morgan stopped by the Palladium offices to chat, and I handed Kris some examples of those vynil-based minits, clix, and capsule-style minis that you can pic up at Wizzywigs. They're making some really cool prepaints in Japan, there...

Mini's-wise? I'd keep the character ones still in the 25mil.. kinda the reaper-scaled... the important part being... everything in scale... I'd like to see a UAR-1 Enforcer...

Or how about thowse "urban vinyl" style toys, with all your favorite coalition style guys chibi-fied & cutesy with teh railguns & laserfied death? Chibi 105 grunt, 109 grunt, Glitter Boy, SAMAS... chibi Grackletooth?

Chello!

Well, if you look at the star Wars minis (the Universe and Bounty Hunter), I think the UAR is very possible...and the Ulti-Max, etc. I love to see Triax machines done in scale as well.

Heck, the AT-ST and AT-AT were done in scale (can anyone said Spider Skull Walker and Skul Transport? I knew you could...!)

Aside from a few memorable characters and of course the red borg and samas I have a relativly limited interest. I would probably buy a couple but couldn't consider myself a collector.

I'd like to see high quality pre-painted plastic minis these days they are very, very nice (see AT-43 game or Mongoose Publishing's Battlefield Evolution.

I wouldn't want unpainted minis (in any material).

nedleeds, if you want any of those ideas to have a chance with Pall, send Kev a letter outlining your proposal. Yes, via snail mail. Kev only started posting on these boards less than a year ago, and prefers a hard copy in his hands. And it's been said many times on these forums, that he'll reply to letters sent via the post, and less often vie email.

As for a Rifts mini game, none exist. No rules, and no miniatures (at least any more). The closest you'd get would be the mini rules in Recon, as suggested by Jefffar.

Yea that would be cool. I'd like to see pre-painted plastic miniatures made for Rifts and other Palladium products. I hate panting miniatures.

While I wouldn't be interested in them for myself, my son would go nuts for them. I think they'd also be a great way to ease him into the world of RPG'ing. I'm sure if they'd ever materialize, at least a few dozen would find their way into my house.

Games Workshop makes good mins(obviously) I personnally think they should make them. The options to make them semi unique for the units would be good.

It shouldn't be too tough. Each card has 1-3 activations, during which it can move, shoot, cast a limited number of spells or use a limited number of powers. Give damage a set number, give cards melee and missile parry/dodge stats, I would love to help create some examples to see something like this happen!

fastest way would be to start with a conversion system to convert fully fledged characters into 'quick-stat' format for play.

to start, you'd need to define a map scale. myself, i'd stick to 1 inch = 3 feet/1 meter. roughly the same scale as the figures.
(i prefer 3D maps, but you could adapt the same scale to hexgrids, squares, ect.)

the stats would need To be simple, covering only the important info.
attacks per melee, PS, SPD, and hitpoints/SDC/MDC.

the SPD would define how many inches the figure can move in one melee
PS would define physical attacks
attacks per melee and hitpoints/SDC/MDC would be pretty much the same as the RPG.

the only one that would need a major overhaul would be SPD, and that only to adapt to the scale. though defining jumping ability based on the SPD value is probably a good idea..
