I need to find a way to get to the Open House!

Ok, so I had been saving to go to the Open House for months upon months. I had a trip to Europe (that I just got back from) and then I would still have enough money to go to the Open House and come back relatively out of debt. Well, that was until the French and Italian railways screwed my girlfriend and I out of around $1,000 each. Now I dont know what to do.

I went to last year's OH with some friends, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Everyone rocked and it was non-stop fun. I cant imagine not going again. So....I need suggestions. I have no money and no job (I was just fried for disagreeing with my boss). If I could sell a vintage drum set that I own I could get about $1,000, but I dont know where to find someone who would appreciate it enough to see the value.

Sorry to come to you all like this. I just dont know what else to do. I'm out of ideas and this is an unmissable event.

Wow... that sucks. It's times like these when I wish I was independently wealthy. Unfortunately, I have to beg and borrow (no stealing though) to make it there myself this year. I would say that I'd at least wish you luck, but with the way that mine has been running I don't want to make things any worse.

Charging it, as much as it scares me to do so, might now be a bad idea. I have a refund and airline miles so I might be able to get my plane ticket for free (just found that out). So I'm really trying to figure this out. Thanks for the help you guys.
