HI Weapons in Rifts Earth
Are the e-clips from the high intensity laser weapons starting on PW page 114 compatible with with the recharging facilities found on Rifts Earth? The write up doesn't specifically say, but I'm leaning towards yes. Has this come up in anyone's game out there?

Implausible as it seems, the E-clips used by high-intensity laser weapons appear to be completely interchangeable with those used on Rifts Earth, if for no other reason than that there is no explicit distinction made between them (the book just says "standard E-clip").
There you go man, keep as cool as you can.

I doubt the clips commonly used in Phase World would even fit in Rifts weapons or rechargers, and Rifts clips wouldn't fit in Phase World technology. But as long as they're both based on more or less the same method of storing energy, it wouldn't be that hard to build a converter plug, sorta like what we've got in the real world so you can plug your American laptop into a Chinese or Polish power point.
But in the Weapons and Technology write-up in PW (page 114) it says that Rifts Weapon Tech and PW weapons are surprisingly similar, both because of the constant escalation on earth and the general apathy toward development in the 3 galaxies (and human(oid)s are very common). In fact the tech on earth is 10 to 20 years away from being equal to most places in the 3G's. Many lines of firearms developed on earth are in circulation in the 3G's as well.
Discussing it with my GM, he's decided that most PW weapons can be recharged at most tech centers on Earth (Kingsdale, MercTown, etc). It just takes 2x as long to charge. Exotic 3G weapons and ones that require physical ammo (grav guns, phase beamers and the like) are out of luck when it comes to repair/reload/recharge unless you find a Naruni or other trans-dimensional source. Sounds reasonable to me.
And who said anything about using PW e-clips in Earth weapons, or vice versa?

I have to agree an operator could make the adjustments quickly. Especially if it's a gunbunny!
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"
"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."
"As you will it, your Grace."
