OH 2008...in March?

Unread post by Spinachcat »

from Kevin's Murmur 6/09/07 You’re the first to know . . .

To alleviate this problem, I, Kevin Siembieda, have been rummaging through the warehouse and Palladium’s archives as well as my personal collection, to sell rare collectibles in an E-Bay auction.

Half the auction will be signed Palladium Books and related products, and the other half will be artwork and animation cels.

Since we expect to be moving to a new location in April 2008, this will help us reduce some of what we have to move to the new place too.

Packing the warehouse to move is gonna be a huge and costly undertaking. I wonder if the fans bought enough stuff at the last OH to put a dent into the stockpiles, but if so, maybe OH 2008 before the big move would be a boon. It looked like people were scooping up books left and right.

So...does April move = March OH? That would be sweet. It would be awesome to have the Open House in the warehouse one last time before they move to a smaller, but more economicly effective location.

I would love to see the next OH start on Thursday so we could get in more gaming. I had such a great time that I was bummed when I turned around and everything was done.

OH 08 in March, sounds like a plan to me, although one month doesn't seem like a long time to pack up a business.

Perhaps Palladium can count on some voulenteers to assit them following the open house.

Chello!

Well, last I heard, someone in Taylor told me they're looking at 1st weekend in June....after the move.

(Although Kevin did like my idea to have the OH the same weekend as the move and turn it into a RIFTS LARP..."Hurry up, move those crates! The CS will overrun us in just a few hours....!!!!" :D )

I heard several posters say they would have prefered June so they could have finished all their finals for college/university/high school.

June's still bad for me. The meginning of May is perfect. A couple weeks later and I'm back in class.

Yeah, but you're expendable. :P

If it was early June I could probably do it. Late June, I'll be moving out of my apartment and to wherever I end up going to grad school at (hopefully). :?

I assume you mean one officially hosted by Palladium, right? I mean, we could do an earlier one on our own at the Troy, MI Hilton (like Youmacon).

We could do it at a campground, we could do it at a convention hall, we could do it wherever we wanted.

Hotels have cable, full sized bathrooms, and don't rock when you walk through them.

Actually, the only thing a modern RV cannot compete with is the full sized bathrooms (OK - the BIIIIG ones can, but we're not talking about those).

Like I said, they now have DirecTV and they have mechanical stabilizers to prevent the rocking.

I am all for it Dennis.

:)

The more I think about it, the more I like the campground idea. I mean, for $25/night you can get four people in a campground just fine. Add in a few RVs and have some people bring large folding tables, and we've got a lot of gaming going on!

You know, we (we meaning my wife and I) would love to go to another OH, but we have decided that unless our kids are taken care of, i.e. being watched by family members, then we just can't do it. Too much strife with the kids. BUT, however, if it was to be at a campground, then we would have no problem taking the kids and we would be able to go. Lets all go Camping!

Wait a min, Im confused. Yoour more concerned about your kids wandering around the enclosed Palladium Warehouse, where from any point you can see any other point. But you seem totally non-challant about letting your kids run around in the woods near Detroit! Eee ghads man! Are you hoping for them to start a new life being raised by Wolverines or gang members?!

Granted there are a lot of brightly colored things in the warhouse for the kids to get into os I see the convern there, but still...

A few people camped last year, but the hotel is a much better environment, especially if you want to drink and game all night. Thats what we did.

I'd rather not camp in the area. You don't know what you'll find out there. As I said, join us at the hotel for a big ol' Palladium Party.

Well, in 07 we stayed at the Ramada, but it is over priced for the crap they give you.
Also, PB is changing headquater's so it the OH 09 won't be in Taylor. Fro the last press release I read they were deciding between two locations.
With luck it'll be closer to the family farm and I can just crash with my relatives, don't plan on staying away from the action long tho, if at all.
