Could we have sources for this information? What you have posted seems straight out of the Recon Mainbook.

Me, I tend to read alot of Military Non-fiction. your lists seem a bit funny compaired to what actual units in Vietnam ended up using.

Vietnam Order of Battle (Stanton, 2003)

MTOE 7-177 Is one of the TO&E's used.

The aggregate total of officers and enlisted for a Company is 164 men. You would need a minimum of 12 unarmed UH-1D helicopters to airlift an infantry rifle company. If the UH-1D’s where armed with door guns and had Door Gunners it would take 14 UH-1D’s to Airlift a full infantry Rifle Company.

To Airlift a Complete Infantry Battalion would take 63 UH-1D Helicopters armed with door gunners.

To Airlift a Complete Infantry Battalion listed in the TO&E I gave would take 77 UH-1D Helicopters armed with door gunners.

*Note this would be to airlift personel.
