I may have asked this before and missed the reply, but who is posting as "Michael T" over there? It most certainly isn't me. I just don't want any posters getting confused.

What's up with the favicons on Lazlo Society (and these boards, too, actually)?

Had to look it up.

What difference does it make? Sounds like just more server load for Palladium, so if they're fine with it, then it makes me no difference.

I signed up for an account this week. It hasn't been approved yet, but the posts do look a little old in most forums. Discussion boards seem to do this, fade in and out of activity for months at a time.

Ali has appeared on the Lazlo board now. I haven't received an answer from NMI about whether or not Raven Davenport would be okay as a PC.

I heard back from NMI today. I've got permission to use the Raven Davenport persona, and NMI said that I can flame myself. Yay!

I apologize in advance for rubbing anyone the wrong way. Raven is supposed to be somewhat of a jerk. I least I chose him instead of the gremlin NPC who would have been a blatant forum troll.

There's a "view new posts" link somewhere at the top right.

After months of trying on and off to get registered over there, I finally am but can't seem to get involved with anything going on there. Now it looks like misunderstandings and lack of communication is causing friction, which I didn't want at all. Seriously, it seems like I'm missing a step or something, but it's becoming more of a headache than anything that resembles fun. It's like people are talking AT me but not TO me and I can't get involved with anything there except for unnecessary shouting matches.

Okay, I'm proud to say that things seem to be calming down and working out better now, but seriously, the private club atmosphere and lack of people willing to talk and help you is a serious turnoff.

Yeah, if you're reckoner the initial response may have come from you seeming (unintentionally I think) to be a tad of a power-gamer. Most of those on the site are of a more storyteller bent, so it raises the hackles sometimes. Still, we should be grateful to have any new blood on the site who is seriously interested in participating.

Some people have story lines that are in action right now so it may be hard to accommodate a new character in those midstream/ One of the best pieces of advice I can say is send a PM to someone who's story you want to join in on and suggest what you could offer to it. If they like it, they will try to squeeze you in. If they don't, don't take it personally, it could just be that the story doesn't have a place for you.

Another great thing to do on the board is to help develop our understanding f what your character is by having him weigh in on some of the discussions on the boards. The stuff in the Community Outreach, Conspiracy Theory and Philosopher's story sections give you a chance to let the other players get to know you and what you are about and think of ways in which you can get a story going together.

Another good way is to write a story about one of your character's own adventures and post it in War Stories - gives us a really good view at your character and the type of story that interests you in being a part of. That way we can look for ways that it might be useful to collaborate.
