didn't Sluggy Freelance do a story arc like that? With Bun-Bun at Time's End? It sounds eerily familiar...
You'd be suprised at what the G.M. will allow with a little blackmail and bribery...

A world where reincarnation is a known fact and public knowledge, resulting in both massive maneuvering to attempt 'directed' reincarnation(coming back always born to privilege, for instance) and century-long pursuits and grudges(ain't just past loves people are seeking)...Some people spend their entire lives laying the groundwork for what they hope will be their next life(and upon remembering what they did in a previous life, some people try suing to get what is 'rightfully' theirs....)...others put off doing anything momentous in their current lives, figuring they'll have time to do it in a future life...

And the Turning of a Page"

Those were pretty awesome! I might send players to the Frozen World. Just put a twist on it of having a Rift oven once evry twelve hours to and from there at a specific location. That way if they don't touch anything they might escape.

But still, one of the most basic rules for survival on any planet is never to upset someone wearing black leather - This is why protesters against the wearing of animal skins by humans unaccountably fail to throw their paint over Hell's Angels.

No clue. It just came to me while I was very, very drunk.
Well, Coolridge wrote 'Kubla Khan' while under the effects of a shot of narcotics...until he was rudely interrupted by a solicitor at his house....(History does not note the identity..or fate...of the man in question)...

That was an excellent alternate history KLM! Thank you for sharing it! The site stopped working after the 18th part. Chapter 19 didn't function.

Of course I would! That idea was simply too cool to give up on, just cause you know the ending! Its like the final Harry Potter book, my idjit neighbor spoiled the ending, but I still bought the book, 'cause I was too curious to ignore my addiciton to knowledge.
Just curious, but what's the name of your book going to be? I'll reserve a copy at my bookstore.

Interesting alternate world Duck-foot, just one thing. It sounds like our own world since the government and their military seem to say that very thing. Oh yeah.........good luck with your novel!!

BUt lost to history is who..or rather WHAT....those early Americans killed to make way for their own people....
Great short story called 'Men Without Bones' about a discovery in a remote South American plateau region....

Interesting second chapter. It'd be a very interesting fight if it was in the golden age of humans. Hmmmm. Very interesting! I can't wait until you write some more of this storyline.

A world where people can change their genders at will, resulting in the elimination of sexual desctrimination and bias (as well as both parents sharing in the childbirth process).
A world in which mankind had achieved almost total harmony with nature by the 1600's. No species have gone extinct to over-hunting, changing their habitat, ect. ect., and humanities civilizations work with the land instead of changing it.
A world where we still use the medival class systems isntead of out modern ones. Serfs do most of the unrtrained labor (farming, logging, etc) and make goods, merchants and traders transport them, you get the picture.

WW2, prior to Pearl Harbor....a series of massive earthquakes rocks central North America, doing incredible damage to cities along the Mississipi and industrial belt...Some people see it as a sign from God that America should remain neutral....Others suspect Nazi secret weapons...America now has a massive natural(?) disaster in its heartland to contend with, as well as looming war with Japan and Germany...

How about the the third American revolution.
During an election in America a party comes to power and it refuses to relinquish it's power when it's time is come. Inspite of the results of the election the president makes themself president for life. This of course causes ripples through out America leading to wide spread rebellion. The President for life gets captured by the rebels who stand them up for trial against their crimes. The president and their government are placed into prison for life. True American justice.

The Whiskey Rebellion, the first real test of the powers of the new American government, results in wholesale disaster, as veterans and the army side with the rural farmers, fracturing, if not outright crippling, the young United States in a conflict between the inland frontiersmen and the metropolitanized coastal colonies...

I remember days like this when my father took me to the forest and we ate wild blueberries. More than 20 years ago. I was just a boy of four or five. The leaves were so dark and green then. The grass smelled sweet with the spring wind...For us, there is no spring. Just the wind that smells fresh before the storm.

When humans join the rest of the galatic community we discover that Earth is an abandoned prision colony and our wardens put a marker in our ancestors DNA which was has been handed down over the generations. All humans are considered to be the offspring of the worst criminals in the galaxy and we are treated as such.

WE make contact with aliens and learn that we're all considered to be border-line morons with little potential...in all subsequent dealings with alien life, we're essentially treated condescendingly as 'the dumb kids in the back of the class'...Violent outbursts and attempts to prove otherwise on the part of Humanity just seem to prove this perception to the aliens...

The Armies and Works that you hold Dear,
Are to him but the Playthings of the Moment,
To be turned over with the Flick of a Finger,
And the Turning of a Page"

HUmans emitt an unconscious psychic 'buzz' that all other species in the galaxy find irresistable...like a cross between a cat's purr and psionic endorphine....They're on their way to make pets of all of us...

Very interesting alternate universes!
How about humanity is the most advanced civilazation in the universe.

Every human being in history is actually the reinarnation of one single lifeforce....finding itself the only sentience in existance, it has gone mad...using time and space and selective amnesia, this single entity recreates itself in new forms over and over, playing every person, every animal, for infinite variety, in order to keep from going catastrophically mad, and effectively imploding the universe as it does so...
