First off, read both this and the Errata (and or nits) with with Robotech: The Shadow Chronicl (sic) first.

now on to the FAQ

(1)Mecha:

A)Why is (insert name of mecha) not in the book?

one (or more) of the following reasons, but do feel free to ask.
1) It did not show up in the "Source" material, in this case is R:TSC
2) Its a "Fan made" Mecha
3) Its from Other Robotech story arcs
4) Its from the Macross univers and thus will never be printed
5) Kevin Ran out of room.
6) while its in the OSM design bible or showed up on film its apearance right now is bascialy secondary cannon
7) Kev was asked to hold back a bit because they did not want to spoil info yet.

B) the (insert mecha name) is Actualy named (insert diferent mecha name)
Sorry but no its not, some of the names were changed after they were mentioned elsewhere, some of the names were changed from the OSM, and others were names Fans came up with for that unit.

(2) Alpha Fighter

A) Where are the Wing hardpoints they are clearly shown. . .
Yes I have seen the modle kit that came out that shows the hardpoints, however they aparently did not show up in the OSM, and are thus not offical, however what you do with your campain is in the end up to you.

B) Where is the stats for the old Alpha fighters from Sentinals/Invid Invasion:

In thoes source books, As for will they be republished? it is posible, after all the current Alfas are from the 2039-2044 era and were mostly with the Reclimation fleet, currently theirs no "Official" word on the older mark of Mecha, so for now you can probably safley use thoes as printed for "from Earth" or in the "Mecha graveyard" units.

C) What happend to the auto Cannon/why does the Alpha have a beam weapon:

A) Does the BETA have a Cyclone in storage

I would say yes.

(3)Condor

A)The Condor is a flying Mecha!
Not in the Current Cannon, the Flight capable transforming Condor program was a bit of a flop, but was otherwise successfull enough to be used as a Batteloid combat unit.
And yes we are aware of the "flying Super Condor" that pops up for one second, that is (according to the current cannon) a diferent unit from what is depicted, and may be apocraphal.

B) why dosent the Condor use Pcells?
that may be an error.

1) its actualy named ____

The name as published is correct, you may have seen the name your thinking of elsewhere(and some places just guessed at the name and never fixed it when it was announced), or you may be mistaking the unit seen on Triol in the Sentinals arcs art. thoes are diferent units.

2) Why dosent it u se Pcells?
That may be an error

VM-9L Silverback series

1) Isn't the Correct name for that unit the "Huricain"

No, it was changed after that broadcast because they realised "silverback" was more descriptive

2) Why is their an armored and unarmored version, wouldent the Armored version have made secnce from the start

For several reasons,
A) the unarmored unit could be made faster, and besides the crew is wearing body armor,
B) the armored unit also has more equipment on it in the form of the sensor camera
c) it tends to reflect the current situation where the US army had all of thoes nice, soft, unarmored HumVes, then found out in GWII that they needed Armor, Badly,
D) the Unarmored version is slower, and you remember the old joke, you dont need to outrun the bear, you just need to outrun the person whos slower than you

3) why is their a seperate "electronic sensor" version instead of makeing that an optional mount

Because they needed to hardwire the power suplies, electronics, and computers into the unit to suport it into the both the turret and the body of the mecha, and given the power of the sensor array they probably also built in some special sheilding to boot.(so no fast salvage of the Sensor turret if thats what you find yourself needing to do!)

C) What happend to the auto Cannon/why does the Alfa have a beam weapon:

Early VFA-6 Alpha variants tha EF Taskforce fielded (early 2020s) may've use autocannon version. However, by 2025 onwards, as UEF & HomeFleet already using beam weaponry by this period, EF Taskforce should follow suit, as beam cannon replace autocannon.

I think it means 'Macross only', not used/mentioned within Robotech. AFAIK, the First War book is supposed to be next on the roster, isn't it?
