Submission by e-mail

Unread post by Prysus »

Greetings and Salutations. This may be an odd question, but I've been rather curious about what the advantages of sending something via e-mail would truly be? I can understand, to some extent. It's fast and fairly reliable, granted, but if you still need to mail stuff to them doesn't that kind of negate any advantage? It's been something nagging at me for a while, out of curiosity (also because I'm debating submitting something and looking into the best method to use). I was curious if anyone had any experiences or added insight into any possible advantage; or for that matter any problems regarding this method. Thank you for your time and patience, please have a nice day. Farewell and safe journeys.

If you were to email something in, it would be recommended as a safety measure to also send in your submission via snail mail as well.

send a copy via E-mail, snail mail, and include a Disk with a digital copy with the snailmail version. just to be safe. the hardcopy gives wayne something to read through, but they'll use the digital copy to actually print the article.

Greetings and Salutations. Okay, for some reason I feel like people are missing the question I actually wanted to try and understand. I'll try again as I may have not been so clear the first time. If you send in a submission via the e-mail option they say they will refuse to look at it until they receive some of the stuff via snail mail regardless. If they won't look at it, and you need to do the snail mail version regardless, why even have the e-mail option? I'm trying to understand if there is any point to it other than them giving you the option to say they won't do anything with it. :p I figure I may be missing something that is glaring obvious (the obvious is sometimes the hardest for me to notice). That's really what I'm trying to figure out. Why? What is the point? Thank you for your time, please have a nice day. Farewell and safe journeys.

I've submitted several things by e-mail; both Slavery and Troglodytes were done that way, initially. What I do is I send it via e-mail initially, and then, in a few days (when I get a chance, basically), I send in my hard copy, along with a signed Unsolicited Manuscript Form.
