We had a campaign based near Lake Baikal which had some mystical creatures in its depths and a hermit on its large island that, according to some researchers that found his testimony (of course it was never made public like the other ones), summoned the asteroid in an attempt to bring an early end to the world. But some unknown force of good prevented it from destroying the world. There were some other theories, too, but that one I remember the most.
Good to see you. Hope you can get access back regularly!

Re: Tunguska!
I'm working with some anniversaries in my threads this year, but not that one.

Re: Tunguska!
for BTS, i find i like the Ghostbusters explanation.
sure they got the year wrong, but the idea of Tunguska being a rift event gone horribly wrong seems like a fun way to explain it.
now that i think of it, in BTS Tunguska could have been the result of events in RIFTS. Tolkeen used their rift defense system to rift out nuclear missiles, and a rift has to lead somewhere....

Louis: I know!
Dr Ray Stantz: You have been a participant in the biggest interdimensional cross rip since the Tunguska blast of 1909!
