I don't think it would apply to magic or anything else.
The passage states "Mega-damage attacks from any source inflict only one SDC point per MD point rolled"
Prometheans don't seem to be designed to have a weakness to magic. In fact, pg. 29, Adepts have magical resistance (5 ISP to negate any spell that targets them).
Phase abilities (psionics) are stopped by magic- true.
But then again- they are stopped by any type of energy field (magic, psionic, technological)
IMO, what pg.26 states means Phase-tech= double SDC damage, Magic= full SDC damage.
Does that make them overpowered? Depends on how one looks at it. How much power does it take to make a Splugorth attempt to conquer you fail miserably.

Personally the way I would do it is this: Magic does full damage means its not converted to SDC nor is it Halved. It means what it says Full damage. Converting it to SDC is not doing full damage. and given that all Prometheans start with some form of MDC Armor its not an issue of Vaporizing them unless they happen to be stuck outside their armor. But then again the same thing can happen to a human that is stuck outside his armor.

under vulnerabilities it says magic does FULL damage. that is pretty descriptive to me, then in the SDC conversion thing it says MOST MD attacks , meaning not all....."refer to vulnerabilities" is what should have been printed right after.

Descriptive? Yes. Definitive? No.

The whole passage states:
Also, the prometheans' unique phase powers protects them from most(implying to me, not completely) MDC attacks: MD attacks inflict only one SDC point per MD point!! SDC weapons do half damage.

Under 'Phased bodies' the passage states:
Mega-damage attacks from any source inflict only one SDC point per MD point rolled. Meanwhile, SDC weapons do half damage.

Under 'Vulnerabilities' is does state "FULL damage". FULL damage to a Promethean is SDC (thanks to their phased bodies).
2nd Stage suffer 1/2 damage from Magic. So why would a 1st stage not have a MD Magic attack converted to SDC?
If they had such a weakness, how could they have defeated the Splugorth (whose main weapon is Magic) so easily?

hmmm you do make a point there. not the Splugorth thing but it had been a while since I looked up the Prometheans and I am thinking that I agree about magic still being converted to SDC.

Cool ideals guys. I think Chad has managed to answer the question at hand. And I do agree with his interpetation.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

You should play one. And have fun playing him. Just one thing, don't name his Thanos! :D

Just talk it over with your GM. Let him read the description for himself. I'm sure it'll depend on the power level of the campaign.
