Well, hopefully he'll first remember to 'turn off' his Growth ability before trying to get his Shrink on... otherwise I'd say the two would cancel each other out and he'd return to his normal height.

"Hey wait a minute -- why aren't I shrinking?"
"Because you tried to shrink when you were THIRTY FEET TALL, you moron!"

doesnt seem like it would be very fair and probably pimping the system, but i don't see any reason you couldnt use growth to max height, then shrink to min height if you have the constant mass shrinking, you'd just about turn into a black hole. weighing ten thousand lbs or something and only be the height of this period--->.

You wouldn't be a black hole. You'd be a one ton pebble (kind of like white dwarf star matter).
This is indeed a disturbing universe.

as for Shrink and Growth I don't want to think about it. It's scary in my game
I've allowed for "compaction" so the PCs SDC is increased by a LOT beoming ever more solid

Also I've changed Growth to be individual
so PS/ht=PS bonus per foot
so a PS of 18 for a 6 foot individual would get 3 pts per foot

now if I was damn crazy enough to allow it
Shrink who's natural state is the Shrunken mode at say Inch
but they also get to keep their PS of 30
PE 30 x 2' = 60'
So for every inch they would gain a PS of 30
so just out of morbid curitosity (60'x12"=720"xPS 30=2160)  :?
10' shorter and over 1000 pts weaker than Galactus but damn
At least I know what the consequence of this would be
The entire experiment may ultimately not work. But as Tiger Woods tears into the springbok, his mouth crimson with blood, he looks to have all the makings of a natural-born killer.

um I was just reading PU2

Eugenics

and this is not a power combo but it would be funny in a disturbing way

Cast Cannon (should be scat cannon)
with a bottle of Ex Lax
does that then make it an automatic weapon?

Growth & Shrink at the same time? One "botch" effect could be that one half of the character's body grows to maximum size, while the other shrinks to minimum......

Nah this will not work...Once time i saw one evil guy that was forced to reply more powers at once, and he did not seem to like to hav ehis right half growing and left one shrinkings, I suppose it felt like dismembering
And montague your ides is sickening , but could work, albeit it will cause biological collapse, much like a deadly case of dysentery...You start shoting you r blood at certain point and not being able to stop..ugly way to die

As for the growth/ shrink combos, if they don't work, here's a legal one that does:

Heavyweight (and possibly Giant [both from PU1]) and Shrink.

Actually we've had this conversation and it's not a curse. People who regularly encounter you WILL remember you(as will anyone iwht a strong will/psychics.
Also the Cloaking power already gives you Forgettable.
If you had both Forgettable AND Divine Aura I'd only let you keep one on at a time(YOu'd have to switrch between them so that you are either forgettable or Divine). This is because I consider them to be opossites, one tells peopel to notice/love you and the other to not notice you...
Damn ICE/BCP/BorderPatrol! Damn everyone who won’t damn ICE/BCP/Border Patrol!! Damn everyone that won’t put lights in his windows and sit up all night damning CE/BCP/BorderPatrol!!!
If you support ICE/BCP/BorderPatrol at this point, you would have called the Gestapo on the people surreptitiously moving into your neighbor's attic and huffed that you were only following the law.

Have a player with Growth/Shrink/Weight Manipulation/Shrink Object.....ouch, sounds worse than it is, but I keep him in check with modifications and stipulations for the powers to work right . Plus they are unstable(having to roll anytime he uses powers, to make sure they work right) and he is terrified of seeing blood, to the point he curls up in a ball and does nothing but wimper and cry. And to top it off he's dummer than a bag of hammers. Munchy? Yeah, so what. lol Its been a fun side game...when nobody shows up for our game sessions or when I have dreamed up some sorta end all villian(s).

i'll use an actual circumstance that happened when my friend and i were dimensionally ported from Rifts to HU, me; a bionic character (simple enough) , him a crazy that started his life as a male and through a bet lost his wanker to an ice demon and through a joke by the party on his character he became a woman and was finalized by a god later on in story. Who is also a mad alcoholic (but never gets drunk due to high save throw), and who loves to go spraypaint graffiti art EVERYWHERE.

K theres the little back history to understand this.

We just got to HU, and so since I and the Crazy were friends in character we went exploring, well the crazy got lost in the back alleys of Las Vegas and decides to "artify" the area. Well an hour later the police show up and arrest her, take her to the station and tell her she cant do that and that she has to stay in jail until monday for her bail hearing (it was Thursday and we had a mission to be done by the Saturday)

So she tells the cops she didnt know she couldnt do that, apologized and proceeded to leave, cops tackled her, she fought them off and quite well at that, she finally got taken down outside the building and on the street with like 12 tasers and 4 bean bag shotguns.

She wakes up in jail that night looks around and still wants to leave, well remember she had a bionic claw in her left arm she decided to cut through the wall and proceeded towards evidence to get her axe back.

And this whole thing went on for a while until she finally succumbed to the 7th elephant tranquilizer that was shot in her....

she never did learn anything except that she's not allowed to fight the police. LOL... but i swear i love playing with my friend, especially since he can play a crazy very well..

sorry if this is a rant or whatever just thought it was funny due to the fact the crazy never learned ANYTHING...

Flying (any) + Hyperdensity...but they're strangely tied together. He can only fly for a random duration then hyperdensity kicks in for its maximum duration and the flying shuts off. Flying could also be replaced by sonic speed or rocket fists.

Hyperdensity + agoraphobia (fear of open spaces): Any time the character finds himself in an open area outside, he turns hyperdense until someone carries him back into a building.

Adhesion + heightened sense of hearing + sonic screech: Any time the character uses sonic screech they reflexively cover their ears and adhesion kicks on, the adhesion won't let go until the character's heartrate/body returns to a relaxed rate and their ears stop ringing.

Instant Wardrobe + forgetfulness: The character can never remember which slot has his costume, his business suit, etc. So he constantly changes into the wrong outfit.

Control Insects & Arachnids + phobia: creepy crawlies

APS: Oil + head of an environmental agency

catastrophic system failure (or any technological related power) + character was born in 5 AD.

So he effectively gets ripped in half? Or do you mean a more gradual transition where he ends up like a triangle, one side is the growth and the other corner is the shrink?

I hope for that babies sake he doesn't need to eat or drink...or he won't live long. Would make for a great terrorist though, bitter and lonely his entire life, not able to have lasting relationships, he decides to take his pain out on the shiny happy people and there's never any real witnesses or evidence.

We had a chasracter in the game who was an Immortal, with the powers Giant and Dwarfing, he could shrink to "only" 7.5 feet, but weighed 1500 pounds...

Bio-Ghost on a character who has a natural AR of 14 or higher - his power would never make him intangible enough to be able to feed.

Actually the power limits feeding on tangible people with ARs. It doesn't limit a person with an AR from becoming intangible.

Aside from the fact that I have the AR number wrong (I was going from memory), the idea here is that the character's powers don't allow the intangibility to pass through a natural AR of 13. While it is not the exact wording of the power, the spirit of the limitation written in the book is that the intangibility has trouble overcoming dense materiels. Thus, a character with a natural AR of 13 would not become intangible enough to pass through anyone else. The irony here is in the spirit of the power's limitation, not the by-the-book wording.

Just for fun, playing in a rather overpowered Rifts game that was open to crossover elements from all over the Palladium Megaverse I started designing a character with a lot of brick type powers, so I went with an Imbued who had something like six minor powers.

Two were Dwarfing and Giant. This means that as soon as he uses his Imbuing Agent, he turns something like fourteen feet tall. Then he can choose to turn on Dwarfing and get even tougher and be "only" seven feet tall.
This is indeed a disturbing universe.

See, I thought Giant was an always on type of power and that Dwarfing was one that could be turned on and off in a manner not entirely unlike an APS power. If an Imubed character has both of them, he should be Giant while imbued and have the option of going dwarf.

I looked it up. The rules as written for the Dwarfing power in PU3 seem to back me up. It references Shrinking as power that is in some ways comparable to Dwarfing and then explains thae rules differences. It also lists Dwarfing or un-Dwarfing as taking a melee attack/action.

And the description for Giant in PU1. "Unlike the power of Growth, the charcter is locked into one size and cannot change from human stature to larger, he is a giant."

Now looking at the description of Imbued in PU2, it appears you are right after all. I missed this bit on the first few passes: "Powers like Giant, Growth, Shrinking, and all the Alter Physical structure (APS) powers also become active withe thaking of the agent and can NOT be turned off- the character must wait for the Imbuing Agent to wear off."
This is indeed a disturbing universe.
