Re: the color of magic?
I and my players have always assumed they were visible. The bluish color of magic sounds good. I don't know why, but I always thought of the magic net as composed of dark green fibers and the COA as a glowing white sheet.

Re: the color of magic?
I always picture Carpet of Adhesion as looking like a no pest strip. Maybe a Magic Net could glow green, like the one Green Lantern creates with his power ring.
Have you ever been thrown out of a Rifts game for being smarter than the Game Master?

Sort of purpley green you mean?
Hmm, I thought it was a yellowish purple. It's been awhile since I've read those books.

Both of you are right - "greenish yellow purple"
Re: the color of magic?
I go by special effect as long as it's not explicitly stated that the spell is invisible. If you want it to be black, brown, green, lime, or magenta, sure! It's just a color of the rainbow. Who cares?

CoA are invisible to people who can't see magic
magic nets are visible but has no set color, they can be as colorless as spiderwebs or as colorfull as a hippy's van.

Re: the color of magic?
I figure most magic to be bluish, unless otherwise stated or applicable. Magic net looks to be a blueish glowing net, CoA is a blue surface glow, as well as most effects (like Negate mechanics will see the item it targets turn slightly blue for a moment), even a fireball starts out blue, but quickly changes color.

just a suggestion. i thought it gave it a kinda unique feel
I thought about that for a few, but it seems like you'd be shooting yourself in the foot. Everyone would know what alignment you were then.
HEEEEYYY, That guy's magic was the same color as that shifter's who was we stopped from enslaving the world a few weeks ago, wait a minute....
You could make it so the color is a personal choice, kinda like cyber-knights psi-swords change color.

EXACTLY !!
They did away with 'See Aura' being able to read the alinement of the chars so the chars couldn't just cop out and have the PSI read the alinements of everyone they meet.
The Color of magic.... If you can't See Magic, as per class powers, then it is invisible unless the description says its a visible effect or from the text you can infer there is a visible effect; if the descriptive text doesn't say what color the visible effects are then the color is left up to the char's choice, wether a actively choose the color or not.
While a fireball will most often be yellow and orange mix, there will be mages who like pink or blue for "their fireball". While with the spell "Light Blade" the effect is white light because that is the stated color in the description.
To fix the color of a spell, as to change the spell's color to that mage's chosen color, would require silght modification of the spell. Using the spell modification & creation rules found in Through the Glass Darkly it is possible to do this.
Note: If I was the GM making rulings on this, you would only need to spend 10% of the normal time to reasurch the change, along with 0% PPE and no level change. Unless you are making other changes as well. adding 1% to the time needed. Students would get ether the basic spell, or the one with the fixed color depending on which spell was taught.
It might be that the color of a mage's magic changes color with his emotions, even with this the color changes would be unique to each mage.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.

Blue magic, what comes to mind is the LeyLine bolts that a Sorsserus Fury enabled mage can fire.

Both spells create actual (if not entirely material) objects, and there is no indication that these effects are invisible. Exactly what they look like depends on what the caster believes they should look like, so they could have any color and texture imaginable. One magician's Carpet of Adhesion might look like a big sheet of flypaper while another's could appear as a shag carpet. Similarly, one caster's Magic Net might appear as a glowing mesh of energy, while another's could appear as an ancient fisherman's net, and that of yet another mage could resemble a spider web.
