Happy 2009!

Unread post by mrloucifer »

My new year’s hopes for all of the BTS players and GM’s are as follows;

I hope all of your supernatural monsters are horrible, slimy and truly evil.

I hope all of your research and investigations go smoothly, with the occasional rough patch to spice things up.

I hope all of your nemesis cult societies are truly mad and despicable in their goals and dreams.

I hope your player characters endure in all their supernatural endeavors with their sanity and physical health intact (not easy in this game, but one can hope).

Finally, I hope all of your adventures will be disgusting, festering and memorable.

I hope that the BTS2 game line is not dead. it sure seems so, and the "2009 state of Palladium Books" didnt help.

Congratulations to everyone for surviving another year.

Vidynn, I share your concern. I suspect that the BtS-2 sourcebooks will eventually be released but when we least expect them. The main rule book came out -- what? -- ten years after it was initially announced? In the meantime, we have these wonderful resources like the Lazlo Society website and Rifter to keep us in new material and keep interest high.
Currently recruiting for Beyond the Supernatural games in 2019 which I am running on Discord: voice, text, and play-by-post. Here is the non-expiring server invite link: 418BQSLG

Im doing my part. Everything I've submitted to the Rifter is BTS material. On top of that more has recently been submitted, more is on the way, and Ive got two adventure/sourcebooks currently in the works... one is a ghost hunting/ ghost stories adventure book and the second will be a "supernatual in the big city" sort of adventures/sourcebook. Ive talked to Kevin about them both and he gave me the thumbs up to write and send them in. Dont loose faith yet peoples... I'm trying. :-D

Im afraid sales of BTS-2 werent as good as expected (but hey, what did PB expect after all those years of announcing it and all the other Horror-games by other companies That Shall Not Be Named) and/or Kevin lost interest in the line, not finding the time and ressources to release the needed stuff, not speaking of new sourcebooks.
so, sales of BTS-2 go down even more as it is "incomplete", therefore "justifying" decisions to put the other books on the backburner even more...on the other hand, PB cant honestly tell us that BTS is dead (just like the "new" Recon, or Splicers, or Chaos Earth) cause that would reduce sales of the mainbook even more...ad infinitum. but I agree, a game doesnt die (completely), as long as there are fans out. so, lets keep the spirit!
