I think that is a fair question. But there are examples in various scifi media of robots breaking their programming. I know we'll have wait and see. I'm hoping that there is something in there to allow just that. Breaking their programming that is.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

ROFLMAO!!! Now that is funny! Sorry Lenwen! I always make sure my drinks are firmly seated before I finish anything possibly funny on the board. I agree though about Taalismn's post. It was funny.

Broken jaws, cracked pelvises, removal of male genitalia from upper body cavities, facial reconstruction, broken hearts...

Well, at some point(though not in the forseeable future) A3's either going to outsmart himself, or somebody's going to figure out the Shemarrians ain't what they seem...
Archie can of course control the manufacture of new Shemarrians, cutting off rebellion in the bud, and they wouldn't have the wherewithal to capture the factory line even if they knew how to work it....But what might happen if the Republicans were to learn what was what? Or somebody figured out from what direction fresh Shemarrian reinforcements were coming from?
The Shemarrians are, of course, programmed to protect their Aberdeen 'birthing grounds', but also to conceal A#'s whereabouts...and if somebody were to figure that the Shemarrians are protecting THIS particular area...the average traveller might not notice in a region of thousands of square miles, and would simply go around as an area among many that it's not safe to go , but the CS with its interest in mapping territory, and identifying future threats, might wonder if there's an active rift or a alien city in that region...and somebody as powerful as the Shemarrians would register up on their list of organized, technologically advanced, d-bees they want to know more about...

I agree with your line of thinking Taalismn. Something like that would definately draw the attention of the CS and other power blocks of Rifts. I'm hoping for some truly indepent Shemarrians from Archie. I mean that would be the ultimate creation.
