For discussion of the Palladium Open House, both past (May 2006 & May 2007) and possible future Open Houses. Who's going, games you're running or looking to play, etc.
I haven't played Rifts in about two years, and before that little 2 month stint it was more like 12. Am I doomed?
Any tips on what I should bring other than dice and my books?

I honestly did not care about gaming my first time, I was much more interested in meeting the people I chat with, so I'd strike up some conversations with the people who post on these boards, read up on what some of the writers are doings etc.
Also if you are 21 or older you can get drunk at rat_bastards homebrewed beer party at the hotel friday night.
I would also prepare to verbally abuse Brandon Aten, as that is a very good use of ones time. I understand he posts on these boards as "Dark Brandon".

Doomed, no, in for a great time, YES. I can't speak for all the GMs but I am sure most if not all will gladly help you get your Rifts legs back and you will be fine, not to mention the kindly players sitting next to you. Be sure to check out the other OH posts for game/GM advice, saving money, and other OH associated happenings.
Tips on what to bring: Books - Check Dice - Check Something with which to write Plenty of cash/plastic to buy books Camera
I believe that about covers the "major" stuff. Hope that helps, feel free to join one of my games! See you at the OH!
Among the things to bring is your sense of imagination and adventure! Be sure to leave any rules-lawyer traits at home. Open House GM's have a young but outstanding track record of being fast and flexible with their games, letting things ride if they feel right, and not sweating the little details of page 178, paragraph 12, sentence 3, blah blah blah.
Is it fun? Is it cool? Game on.

1) I'll be there and drinking. 2) If Dark Brandon comes up with me, he'll kick you in the taint while I laugh and drink your beer.
