Ideas for Eldrich Artifacts and Tomes.

Call of Cthulhu gave us a list for when PCs come into possession of an artifact or tome.. It included such things like secret compartments and strange dreams.

Does any one have any more ideas for artifacts that man was never meant to touch?

Such as? Perhaps the carrier or party are affected by nightmares. One in the party may be vulnerable to the call of this vile tome and tries to use the rituals contained within, or just looses his marbles and tries to kill his fellows. Demons and evil mages can sense the book within a certain radius and will investigate, likely attempting to take it for themselves.
