It's Cat in the hat.
Besides, it would be part of the civilian ed. space safety program. Making the dry and not fun of training learning how to live in space, not so dry and not fun.
And it is punishment detail for Maistroff, for when gets to uppity.

Even trying to imagine that might scar me for life, thanks. ;)

Not to mention that the CO for the division our unit is in, for War and Peace, is from the same clone line, and I'll probably imagine him doing it now. *shudder* :)

At least the current iteration of Seren for W&P knows darned well she can't sing, and doesn't try ;) heehee. ;)
Currently Playing:

Robotech 2044: Tales of the Misfits Next Generation hosted by RyuDraconis

Just visualizing a panning open shot of Khyron, in uniform, on some flower-covered mountain slope, singing that, makes my eyeballs pop...
Until I picture the aerial point of view being Rick Hunter in his VF looking for signs of life, and him being mindblown by what he sees flying overhead that he fails to pull up in time and brickwall-stalls into a neighboring mountain...and then my sense of the absurd is reset...

More fun with the Cosmic Harp:
Bowie:(trying to calm Musica down while he runs the scales on the Cosmic Harp) "Hey...sounds like you need to get this thing tuned...though you probably sing Barry White to it as is....
I've been really trying now baby
Trying to hold back this feeling for so long
And if you feel like I feel
Come on

Let's get it on
Let's get it on..."

He doesn't notice Musica suddenly standing up straight and getting a LOOK in her eyes.

(sometime later)
An armored Dana and Louie are ridding along, looking for their missing teammate..

"YIIEEEE!!"
When he suddenly runs by them, wearing only his boots and a naked Tirolian Muse wrapped around his waist.

Dana and Louie share a look and confirm, yes, they both just saw that.
"Bet ya a week's pay he used his Barry White imitation."
"Not taking it...I've heard his Barry; he's GOOD."

No...He's just got a REALLY deep voice when he sets his mind to it. Plus it's something he inherited from his father.
Besides, it was Louie who made the second comment; anything(legal) that gets the ladies over to the ATACS' side of the bar is considered a GOOD thing.

"Well, I managed to hit a vital target on the Masters' ship!"
"Main powerplant?"
"Nope."
"Computer core?"
"No."
"Bridge?"
"Not at all."
"Main munitions bay? Manufactory? Protoculture reserves? Cloning works?"
"None of those."
"WHAT DID YOU HIT!?"
"Hairspray supply...Man, that stuff almost took out the whole rest of the ship!"

(Nova confronts the 15th at their favorite watering hole, after she's figured out they smuggled somebody back to Earth)
"And who might THIS be?"
Dana: "Ah, she's Bowie's date! She's a musciain too! I think she plays the squeezebox or something...why are you looking at me like that?"
Nova: "'Squeezebox'? Aren't you supposed to say 'cello'?"
Musica(picking up on the screwup): "No, she got it right! Tirolian polkas are known across the galaxy!"
(Angelo, Sean, and Louie mime playing accordians, and Bowie launches into a piano version of the Polish National Anthem as Nova and Dana lose it)

Leonard: "This is my answer to you so-called 'Robotech Masters'! ----THIS BATTLESTATION IS FULLY OPERATIONAL!"
(cue one of the craters on the Moon lighting up DeathStar Superlaser style and firing...)
Robotech Masters: (going popeyed) "OH S##-!"

Alternately:
Moon Superlaser fires, striking the Masters' fleet, and utterly annihilates it....
But the beam keeps on going...directly for Earth.

"Micronians! The Invid are coming! You have only ten days to evacuate your planet or face extinct-- Technician! Why did the signal cut out?!"
"It's not the signal that's gone, milord! It's the whole planet!"
"What do you mean?!"
"The Earth! It's gone! One moment it's there, the next it's NOT!"
"Don't be preposterous! Planets don't just disappear! It must be a sensor malfunction!"
"I got some of the Guard Triumvirate to go to a window and check! I even had somebody stick their head out a hatch! The planet's GONE! And their Moon too!"
"That's not possible!"

"How long until you think until they realize that we're simply on the other side of the Sun?"
"Figure another eight minutes for light lag. "
"Coulda just zipped over to Alpha Centauri."
"Not until we figure on a way to adjust for the sunlight spectrum. Plants are finicky about their light."
"You know, I normally don't like running from a fight, but even an old warhorse like me knows that retreat is sometimes the best solution. And I'm glad we devised those planetary Fold Engines! I just wish I could see the looks on those aliens' faces when we just vanished!"
"Stroke of genius, Field Marshal. Sorry I doubted you."
