Lazlo Society Accounts up for grabs.

Unread post by Holister »

Hello

I have the following accounts I no longer will be using and are available for others to use if they want them. If you are interested in a character please PM using the Holister account on the Lazlo Society website. Password access will be provided, suggested that any passwords be changed once character is acquired to prevent any future access from my end. Thank You

Well Ive been on a bit of a book buying beder so to speak.

I already have BTS 1st edition and Boxed Nightmares. Plus the Compemdium of Contemporary Weapons (plus a copy of Ultramodern Firearms by Chameleon Eclectic; 1993). Got have them guns. :P

In order to expand my gaming experience I have been acquiring some various titles to greatly enhance my current game for my players....

Ninjas & Superspies
Mystic China
Systems Failure (finally nicked a copy; :D )
Vampire Kingdoms
Dimension Book 10: Hades
Dimension Book 11: Dyval
Monsters & Animals (2nd edition)

I was thinking of checking out the Dead Reign books to see what they offer. Anyone here play those?

I am however avoiding Nightbane & Heroes Unlimited like the plague. I did a NB campaign once, NEVER AGAIN.
My friend did a HU campaign and his PCs tore it apart in one session, so NEVER AGAIN.

Rifts &MDC stuff is also out of the question because it is too " out there " and futuristic for my tatse. I try to keep my games as grounded as possible...from personal experience you give a player " a plasma rifle with an infaed targetting sight " and you have yourself a very, VERY short campaign. :P

I want an all around Contemporary game setting that offers a little bit of everything (but the horror genre is still my fav) to my players. Do you guys recommend anything else?

Thanks

PS: The additional accounts are also now up for grabs.

Jeremiah Dark
Dele Morte
Stephen
Faith Landry
Hit Squirrel

That is all.

Hollister, the hi-tech weapons aren't campaign breakers unless you set them up to be dominating. After all, 1st edition has energy weapons. He's an old dirty GM's trick. If the PCs are using a lot of kinnetic weapons (swords, bats, & guns), lock them in with a critter who is immune to that. If they are relying almost enitrely on energy weapons (plasma grenades, flame throwers, & electro-stunners), lock them up with a critter that is immune to energy attacks. I tried that last trick in a Star Wars game. It presses the players to take more risks and think more creatively.

So which book did you like better, Hades or Dyval? I have neither yet.

One more quick suggestion, why don't you advertise these accounts with a little more detail about the characters? Maybe, you could feature one character per week like humane socieities feature one pet each week in local newspapers.
Currently recruiting for Beyond the Supernatural games in 2019 which I am running on Discord: voice, text, and play-by-post. Here is the non-expiring server invite link: 418BQSLG

Actually that is TWO questions. :-D But I don't see why not. I have upside of a dozen acccounts accually. This was never my original intention. At first I created Holister as my first and primary character. Other character just seemed to appear. However a majority of these additional character accounts were the result of friends who had either set their own accounts or had me do it for them.

Why aren't they here now? Well, they either didn't care for the site or didn't have time. All in all, most felt like they were chased off the site by other players who " treated them like ass ". So now I have a small arsenal of characters that I don't want, don't need, or simply do not have the time to run. Some of them haven't even been used yet.

It is my intent to just stick with Holister for now and just hand off these other accounts. It would be a good idea if I described the characters a bit though. :D Probably should have that in the first place. I will start that a little later. I have to go and finish that War Stories thread and hope the thing doesn't crap out on me again....for a thrid time.

Write it in notepad and save often, then copy and paste the text in. I learned that a hundred years ago or so. :)

As soon as I have a chance to read through them my man you'll be the first to know. Can't ever go wrong with more demons.
