low power campigain for phase world

I have not ran a game of rift for a while . The phase world looks like fun but want to keep low power level . What would you keep think is a low power level ?

Spacers, Runner, maybe a cyborg or two for heavy-support. Ummmmm; Rogue Scientists and Wilderness scouts (of course with skills appropo to to the setting). Those work for ya?
Oh, and you'll want an operator, psi-mechanic or TW along to keep everyones gear intact.

Or go with one of the SDC conversion options.

Only allow weapons and armor from the phase world book and make heavy stuff god awful hard to get. Make repairs and reloads far away or exspensive. Don't use dominators. Make the chars have to be sdc or at least under 120 mdc.

Sick with S.D.C. mortal races. Start with lower tech gear from RUE, this way the characters can upgrade to the cooler PW weapons/gear later. I did a small group of S.D.C. Galactic Tracers and it was a blast. They did all kinds of jobs and even a few for Thraxus. Get Rift 34 for the Galactic Tracer ship creation rules, even if you don't have a group of tracers. The rules are spot on for a small group of characters.

Start the players on a small ship doing odd jobs to make a living (think Firefly) and stay away from the high MD races.

Job examples
Haul cargo
Smuggling
Transport passengers

Depends on what you prefer.

A bunch of SDC humans arriving into Center via a rift, maybe on the lower levels, with RUE equipment works fine for a "first campaign", ie. getting
used to the setting.
