If it was me, and I was beamed to this exact spot on rifts earth, I'd end up in the Northern Gun army most likely. As I'm right in the middle of Northern Gun.
If it's a 'What would you like to be on rifts earth" I'd head west and go for Cyberknight training.
Failing that, I'd go and either join the CS or Lazlo. Being educated, I could rate high in the CS social structure, or fit in right at home in Lazlo.

Nightbane with Quad-morphus form (dual morphus twice)
Form one = fanboy DBZs Goku, looks, voice, cloths.
Form two = Super Saiyan 1
Form Three = SS2
Form Four = SS3
since gt is not offical manga by the creator of dbz, i kinda ignore it for the most part. even though it was good anime series.

The CS isn't going to just let anyone who claims to be a human in, and given all of us are obviously literate AND have forbidden knowledge that can't be completely concealed you simply aren't going to successfully hide the fact you're a D-Bee from them. The Burbs alone are clear evidence that even those who are native can't even get in because they aren't trusted, a human from prior to the Cataclysm who clearly is ignorant of things that are basic knowledge to everyone else and knowledgeable of things that are forbidden isn't going to be fooling anyone. The CS may be blind, genocidal lemmings but they aren't stupid, they're paranoid to the extreme and the books make it quite clear they treat people from other times and parallel earths with the same 'kill them all' policy as they do non-humans and mages.

You got a page number then?
But with the recruiting going full steam the odds are human d-bees might get in, much like illegals get into military now, by ways of thru less then honest recruiters.
Literate is never a problem with the coalition , we will have a better choice of occ/mos.
Forbidden knowledge , yeah they will grill them to see what they know, if the person is still for it, then be order to keep it to themselves. Like most normally do anyway. Well that's my opinion , you can agree with it or not.

I really wish people didn't constantly toss out 'page number/book' all the time when they don't like something that's a well known canon thing, especially as often as it gets tossed out regarding the CS.
The original Rifts Sourcebook notes on page 13 how the CS doesn't allow ANY D-bees within the borders of its cities and towns and are seen as worthless scum and pawns. While I don't have the Conversion book handy Conversion Book one makes it clear that D-bees includes humans from other worlds and times, and you clearly are talking a house rule version of the CS as Literacy is very much a problem. Literacy is seen as a dangerous thing in anyone not approved for it (which means pretty much the entire population), even the military is filled with illiterate soldiers. Some human showing up demonstrating literacy is seen as a threat, something explicitly noted in the Conversion book.
Fair warning: I consider being called a munchkin a highly offensive slur and do report people when they err in doing so.

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

Re: If 'rifted' to Rifts, what would you be, given the choice?
There is a difference between "not teaching full literacy" and "not allowing it". As pointed out, it's possible in many of the Military OOCs, and the higher in status you get the more chance you've had more formal education. The upper levels of the Megacities have close to 20% literacy if memory serves, along with a full university.
If you're 'smart enough to read" and they check your DNA and it comes back "human" and you have a story like 'My dad was a tradsman and taught me to read to keep the books for his shop" or what ever they're not going to freak out. You'd probably get fast tracked to officer training.

Really, if you want to house rule it that way that's fine but that's not what the CS is like as per the books. They do NOT treat someone being literate as 'well that's okay', and they definitely aren't going to make you a part of their military let alone an officer. That's just ludicrous. They've massive shanty towns (you know, the Burbs? ) filled with humans that they refuse to treat as anything but useful tools and garbage.

The passage refers to Rogue Scholars that hold important information. The implication is that those who are knowledgable in certain fields are often prized by the CS (mentioned earlier in the same paragraph), and as a result may be asked to join their ranks.
I don't see how you derive that meaning from that passage. If anything it suggests how unlikely it is that they'd be invited in and likely never to become a proper citizen.
Johnnycat93 wrote:RUE pg 231 wrote:Regarding nonhuman invaders

This passage is out of the description for the CS military. I really see no evidence that the CS actually kills humans who would have come out of some alternative universe, especially if they are loyal to the CS. Most of the time when they mention the CS and D-Bee's together they are speaking of "Inhuman Invaders"
You should check the Conversion book, humans from worlds other than the present day of Rifts Earth aren't considered anything but D-bees because they are. D-B, as in 'Dimensional Beings', as in 'not native to the present day Rifts Earth'. If you're from another time or earth you are a D-Bee. The CS kills humans all the time, the population of Tolkeen just the largest example of that but hardly the only example. They purge people who're born on Rifts Earth and have no qualms doing so with those born on other Earths. One would be supremely foolish to think they could find themselves even remotely in a good position trying to hook up with the CS.

its comes down to if they accept indoctrinated to the coalition, if they do welcome to the coalition, if they don't , we'll it's now going to end well for you. As for literacy don't see anything saying the CS looks down on soldiers who know how to read.

Funny how both say the same thing if you are willing to follow the CS line then you can join up. You may never become a full citizen, but you can still join the CS.

I'm afraid I just can't see how or why anyone from this Earth would ever want to hook up with the CS, an entity described in the actual books as an empire of evil and patterned after the Nazis. To knowingly support the murders of innocents (and no one from this Earth can ever claim ignorance on that point) and insist it's just fine because they were either humans who used magic or weren't humans. It would be the same as someone defecting to Nazi Germany to help with their war effort and 'Final Solution'.

No because simply put half the critters in rifts would turn you into lunch without a second thought.
You appear in xiticix territory , you think they going to go let's cut him a break , nope you are seen as an invader killed or worse , yup food.
You appear in Atlantis, well you are just screwed there slave or lunch take your pick.
The vampire kingdoms , well that's slavery and being a happy meal too.
Lazlo yeah right somehow I don't think a dragon or any powerful supernatural is going to care about some short-life span creature. Sure they may say different but they may say you are equal but don't kid yourself, you are nothing compared to them.
NGR sure, they will let you in until you start that nonsense about equally and freedom for all well that would include the gargoyles and brodkil too, you know them folks at war with NGR.

First off that's too simplistic, half the creatures are not out to kill or enslave you just because they feel like it. Even if they were that still doesn't justify supporting a 'just kill everything' policy when you KNOW you're going to be killing innocent beings. The answer to 'What Measure is a non-humen?' should never be 'just kill them all, including the innocents'.
Second you're arriving as anything you want to, so you don't have to arrive as a squishy human unless you just like being vulnerable.
Third there are a lot more options than you list around, including the New Navy and Megaversal Legion. People that don't have a 'genocide and killing innocents is our policy' mindset. There is zero acceptable justification for going with a morally repugnant evil empire with all the other options available.
