Pirates, Pistols and Pillage

Unread post by BABSDAGGER »

Hi everybody, big time palladium fan here with a few questions to pose to all who have GM savy
Let me start by giveing any potential responders the backdrop of whats going and what im looking for, as clairity allways leads to quality.

I'm begining to ramp up my creativity for another campaign allthough i wont exclusivly be the GM so here i turn to the community for aide.

The location of this game is going to vary but if it had one it would arguably be the oceans of palladium, but i expect that allot of adventures will be land based. Were going to have a wide range of player styles, occ's and races and even RCC's as PC's. So far a wolfen necromancer who makes his living with a silver tounge and a doctors skillset, a Hytril whos the ships cook and jester, the other players haven't gotten setteld on a character concept yet so im trying not to gear anything around party composition yet but now comes the complicated part and the reason i need a bit of help.

The entire drive behind starting this particular campaign has been that at one point or another most of us have sat in the GM or player seat for longer then is comfortable. You know that feeling you get as a GM just burnt out with no ideas, or perhaps your on the player end of things and have amazing ideas for adventures that u'll never get to share outside of abstract discriptions unless you decide to run it but might not have anything more to offer than that scene? The potential solution to this issue eventualy came to me one night...

why not run a game in such a way that would allow people to switch chairs whenever they wanted and better yet in a way that wouldnt affect the overall continueity of story for the characters. This however comes with a rather large roadblock, how do you string together some adventures that you can play for several seshins in a row AND/OR just one.

So far iv started compiling a bunch of random idea's things for the party to encounter on the high seas or in ports/ on some islands but im looking for as many ideas as i can get to add to my growing list

Thanks in advance for any contributions, comments and even questions !

Actualy i dont belive we will have to many oddness like that in our campaign, the idea is to have the captain and other key members of the crew be NPC's and with all of us roleing a character but when its our time to GM have that persons character sit out for some reason, the flu or not on that watch shift etc. im more just looking for scenerios to put the players trough that would happen out on the palladium oceans
