It occurred to me that it frequently happens that if you shoot someone's power armor head off you have a nice piece of salvage to make some money on.
This has created a very profitable business venture: Referbished and freshly manufactured helmets. Think about it, how many times have you gone and vendored a SAMAS to the Black Market? This fills a very desireable niche when it comes to purchasing your very own Super Samas or power armor of choice, or well, get a bit more for it if someone makes a helmet for it. So call your operator friend and get a really nice lathe. There's a lot of profit in helmets.

Salvage is a good thing. it certainly would create a big market for multi-optic helmets....with environmental faceplates of course.

Yes, being able to replace power armor heads would take a comprehensive knowledge of various PA component designs and what it takes to correctly interface any head/helmet-located components(especially if the helmet contains any sort of pilot interface, such a neural interface) with the rest of the 'armor, as well as how to modify systems to fit, substitute(because you're unlikely to have a reliable source for CS parts, for instance), and customize.
