New Curses
I don't know if this subject has been covered in a different thread or not, and quite frankly I'm too lazy to search for one, so I'm starting this one. I have a few ideas for new curses, whether placed on magic items/rune weapons, used as spells or whatever. It's also open for your own devious ideas as well, so if you have a new curse, put it up here.
Curse of Stigmata
A rather debilitating curse, often placed on powerful magic items and Rune weapons. This curse causes the wielder of the cursed item to gain a particular stigmata, or permanent wound. This wound will always be open and bleeding, though it can be bandaged and the wielder does not suffer damage from blood loss from it. It is somewhat painful, causing the victim to suffer a -1 to parry and dodge rolls as well as a permanent loss of 5 HP. Furthermore, any dice rolled for HP at additional levels are reduced by 1 point, though never lower than 1. The penalties last for as long as the victim owns the cursed item. Breaking the curse requires the victim to relinquish the cursed item and receive a successful Remove Curse. Once this is done, the combat penalties vanish and the wielder gets the initial 5 HP that he lost back. Any HP the character did not gain from level advancement because of the curse will not be gained. This is a very rare curse, often reserved for the most powerful magical items and Rune weapons. On the plus side, if a particular stigmata is bad enough, the victim could gain a personal HF of around 9 or 10 (GM's call)
There's my first little contribution to this. I look forward to seeing your input and ideas. Good luck and great gaming!

So just words of truth with a longer duration? Not sure you can call that a curse just an extended spell.

Would have the "Truth Curse" be that they can not speak anything that in itself is a non-truth.
Of course for those readers of Robert Jorden's Wheel of Time series, not being able to tell a bold face lie does not hinder a person that has lived with such a curse for a while from lying all together. Or to say manipulating people by saying partial truths.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.
Each question should be give the canon answer 1st, then you can proclaim your house rules.

yes, the difference is words of truth you can simply choose to not answer a question. Jim Carrey didn't just have to tell the truth, he also had to answer all questions no matter how inane or trivial.

Ok then guys... how's this for a personal spin on this...
Curse of Compulsive Honesty
A uniquely subtle curse, it forces its victims to be completely honest despite alignment or personal compunctions or desires. At first it may go unnoticed, particularly if the victim is normally a generally honest person. But eventually the more insidious side of it comes out. The key word here is forces the victim to be honest. That means any question posed of the character, regardless of how inane or trivial it may be will be answered completely and honestly by the character, often in as blunt a manner as possible. (think Jim Carrey's Liar, Liar) While the character is basically doing 'the right thing' by being completely honest with people, let's face it... some people just can't seem to handle the truth. To make matters worse, the character cannot actively support another person's lies if he actually knows the truth and will willingly volunteer any information regarding the truth of the matter. Please note, the curse does not stop anyone from performing a criminal act. A thief can still steal, an assassin can still murder and any Joe off the streets can perform any number of other petty larcenous crimes you can think of. It just forces the victim to be bluntly honest about it. "What did you do last night?" "Oh not much... I just broke into the richest house in town, robbed them blind, fenced all the loot to the Black Market in the store room behind the tavern, blew all the cash on a drunken revel... bedding a half dozen wenches in the process ... then went back to my hideout behind the waterfall to sleep it off and plan my next caper. What did you do?" A successful Remove Curse will negate the effects, but may leave the character a changed man.

Re: New Curses
Just had another new curse come to mind... try this one for size...
Butterfingers
A very debilitating curse, especially if you're a warrior type, it doesn't make you clumsy so much as makes it hard to keep a hold of anything. Dropping a mug of ale as you're about to take a drink, a lockpick slipping from your grasp just as you get the last tumbler in place, even dropping your sword in the middle of combat. In game terms, the victim of this curse has a 25% chance of 'accidentally' dropping any item he or she is currently holding at any time. In melee combat, any attempt to parry made by the victim has a 30% chance of disarming him, 50% if the parry is successful as he drops his weapon on impact. Even worse, the victim has a 30% chance of being disarmed when attempting to strike in melee combat, increasing to 40% if he is successfully parried. If the victim is using a bow, crossbow or sling he has a 30% chance of dropping his arrow/bolt/stone while trying to load his weapon resulting in the loss of that attack. At first this curse is often confused with the curse of Breaking since it usually gets noticed for the first time when someone drops something fragile. A successful Remove Curse will negate the effects.
Have fun and good luck kids!

Curse of Faithfulnis:Any Man or Woman, under this curses, will not be Attracted too or Get any pleasure from any One who is not ther legal Wife or Husband.
Curse of Magic limited:This curse affects only Magic OCC,they suffer a limited on ther Magic like they can only use it pass Sun down,or ther spells will on effect people wearing silver and so On.
I like New Curses,I hope people can come up with more,I like subtle ones, where a person das not known ther suffering from one until a Magic Occ detect it and tells them.

Re: New Curses
Curse of Faithfulness: Any Man or Woman, under this curses, will not be Attracted too or Get any sexual pleasure from anyone who is not their Hand-Fastened Wife or Husband, respectively.
(This might be given as a "Blessing" by the priest during a wedding.)
[Using the term 'hand-fastened' as to mean they have had a priest marry them.]
Curse of Limited Magic: This curse affects Magic classes the worst. When afflicted with this curse Magic classes suffer a limitation on their Magic use. Like they can only use magic from dusk to dawn, or their spells only effect people wearing silver and so On.
For non-magic users the curse might take the form of being immune to healing or other helpful magics, or that their saves vs magic with a penalty, or something else.
(The GM is encouraged to make specific effects for themselves.)

The above are Gaby's ideas spelling/grammar corrected and revised & expanded on.

Re: New Curses
Putting my own little spin on these if I may...
Not really much comes to mind with this one... very few characters in my games that decide to get married
This I can work with a bit...
Curse of Reduced Magic:
A very debilitating and powerful curse, it reduces its victims total PPE by 50% as well as any PPE drawn from outside sources (Ley Lines, Ley Line Nexus, sacrifices, amulets, etc.) by the cursed individual. (also reduced by half) This particular curse is quite powerful, affecting not only mages and other mortal spellcasters (Diabolists, Summoners, etc) but even powerful, natural mages such as Demons, Deevils and even Dragons who not only suffer the above effects but also see their natural magical abilities reduced to 50% effectiveness! (ie teleportation, Dimensional teleport, bio-regenration, etc.) Furthermore, spells, circles or wards cast/created by the cursed individual cost twice as much PPE to cast/activate. The curse does not affect the magical abilities of magical items the cursed individual may have or use (ie spells cast by a Rune weapon or powers used from a magical item are not affected) nor does it affect any magical effects that target the victim. A successful Remove Curse will negate the effects.
Now of course, this particular curse obviously won't have much of an effect on any non-spellslingers in your group... but then there are so many other ways to curse those guys! For example, the Butterfingers curse noted above. Either way, have fun with it kids! Stay tuned for more!

Depends on the group. I've found that if the game goes on long enough the majority of characters get hitched.

It also effects those who are not married. They derive no enjoyment in 'carnal knowledge' till they are married.

An Alternate....
Curse of Bad Taste (fashion): The victim will find loud and clashing clothing as 'his'/'her' style. This makes them stand out in a crowd, making them the target for pickpockets, fights and other misfortunes.
