Hi all,
Was wondering what people thought about TW items (mainly weapons) and characters that have a vulnerability to magic (mainly thinking the Mega-Hero Achille Heel). Would a TW gun, for instance, cause double damage or just normal damage? I guess it would perhaps depend on the weapon used. Just food for thought.
Thanks for your replies.

TW weapons would definatly deal double damage so long as the attack is magical (Starfire weapons, fire bolt, ect). a TW power converted gun that fires normal energy but runs on PPE instead of E-clips would not.

TW stuff is magic in a techno shell.
TW power conversions, as per the 2nd part of NS post, are very rare.

Its fairly rare NOW (depending on how you interpret the rules of course) but it used to be the norm. As well as the old TW laser or TW 'rail gun' I would say that a laser is a laser and not magical. A rail gun that shoots TK would be, but a rail gun that shoots wood isnt. I would look at the weapon and say 'what is the intent here' is it to cast a spell, or to replicate technology. and use that as a starting point.
The rules are not a bludgeon with which to hammer a character into a game. They are a guide to how a group of friends can get together to weave a collective story that entertains everyone involved. We forget that at our peril.
