What Is Your Favorite Power Armor/Mecha
I KNOW everybody will have so much fun with this topic because we all have that one Mecha/Power Armor we love using or
That one Mecha /armor in a Rifts book we wish our GM would allow in the campaign for us to use
I'm saying anything is fair game from Rifts, Robotech, And any other Megaverse game
So,
What is your favorite Mecha / Power Armor
I can't wait to get into this discussion and read everyone's responses!!!

Re: What Is Your Favorite Power Armor/Mecha
OK I'm going to go ahead and pick 3 different units
1: Coalition Smiling Jack Samas Power Armour
• Suprise, right? :0P, I honestly love this power armor, it's extremely fast, maneuverable, and fits perfectly with my female coalition military specialist. I like the idea that you don't have to always have the strongest, and most powerful armor 2 play, I like the challenge of having limited weaponry and lower MDC, an awesome power armor, that I use every campaign
2: Coalition Super Samas
• oh yeah, going into heavy combat? Want to have something that can out maneuver other mechs, and have enough fire power to gun them down, look no further than the super samas
This armour disrespects all other power armour and can run circles around a ultimax or classic glitter boy , and yes I have a thing for the coalition
3: Veritech Valkyrie VF-1S w/ or without super veritech upgrade
in terms of a versatile Mecha , I don't think anything can touch the Valkyrie, it is so badass, you can in the middle of a battle, be in full flight mode as a jet and firing missles at a enemy, sweep in Transform to gerwalk mode and land while continuing to fire laser and gun blasts, suddenly transform to battaloid mode, roll out of the way and gun Down the opposition, start running and then transform back into jet mode and tear away to the next enemy
Now that is epic
You can't go wrong with any of the three choices I presented

The Triax Super Hunter. One of the better all around combat PA's out there, imo.

For look it have to be the CS mauler... its not that great but a few upgrades turn it into quite the beast... never underestimate the value of a skelbot cpu multitasking those plasma cannons.

GB Killer. The thing looks like it'll rip you apart just standing there. Plus it has an awesome array of close combat weaponry for fighting all kinds of beasties as well as other PA's.
For more standard fare, it's another piece of CS hardware, the Terror Trooper. That thing looks pretty mean too. Like a giant, augmented deadboy basically. The stats are alright too. Not the most amazing thing ever, but i love the look.

Flying Titan Power Armor
It's pretty much a flying power armor version of the X-500 Forager Battlebot, and it was the fastest (as far as I know) power armor until the CWC came out the the Super Sam's. Sure it may not have a hard hitting energy weapon or come equipped with a rail gun, but what it does have is the ability to carry and fire up to six SRM's (which have a rang of 5 miles, depending on the missile variety), or 12 mini-missiles.
You get a Phaeton Juicer in there and your enemies might as well say good night.

To me (and I am not picking on you for your choice) it looks too top heavy and that one good shove and the thing is on its back and as bad off as a turtle.

The kitanni Trex robot from south america 1. Have fun plasma peeing things to death with the crotch cannon!
Really though on a more serious note probably the original samas. For its time it was hard hitting/fast/well armored and looked amazing. Seriously seeing one of kevin longs old paintings of the SAMAS and that thing just screamed rifts and was instantly recognizable.

For Rifts, I'd go with the Naruni Mecha-Knight power armor. It has great MDC protection, a very respectable particle beam rifle with excellent range for the size, it can mix it up in melee combat with the energy sword, and has a very decent flying speed of 300 mph.
For Robotech, it's the VB-1B Beta Fighter/Bomber in first position, followed by the Vr-041 Saber Cyclone as the very close second.

That's an excellent one that I completely forgot about.
I'm also a huge fan of the Kittani Equestrian.
Also, I forgot that you can add Naruni forcefields to the armor as an add-on system, so you can add up to 180 additional MDC before getting to armor damage. More than a match for poor Enterp.... I mean an Ulti-Max.

Well, if you have the money to throw around (which suggests you do if you have a Naruni Power Armor), then I would get the robot version of the Naruni Super Heavy Force Field because it has twice as much MDC.

Triax T-31 Super Trooper Robot Destroyer Power Armour. By the time you've finished saying the name, it's already blown a hole into a giant robot and is shredding the interior with high explosives.
Sabre Cyclone. It's a motorcycle that turns into power armour with an auto-dodge and arm shields/blades that have "Mega Damage Capacity: Yes", as in, indestructible.
Hard to pick a specific variant, but gotta give props to the various Glitterboys and SAMAS out there as well, for solid, iconic stuff.

Definitely a favorite of mine for its range of versatility and overall capabilities.
The Particle Beam Cannon equipped space Glitter Boy, limited number of shots but the most devastating particle beam weapon around with the longest range of anything short of the Naruni heavy hover tank in what amounts to a more man-sized portable weapons platform.

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

Re: What Is Your Favorite Power Armor/Mecha
Gotta say the raptor suit from south america is pretty sweet too, good rifle, sonic blasts, its fast and it looks cool.
Also the wild weasel with its black boxes is the best supporting robot of all time. It does what i think a coms guy and some one with ecm/eccm should be able to and it flys fast and is not a slouch. If you have more than two pa or robots having one of these to coordinate combat is a huge boon.

Silverhawk PA from Phase World (multi Rifle with nearly 2 miles range, insane short range firepower, 16 mini missiles, high speed, flying, stealth system, good armor, force field distrupter - I think this could be changed to super heavy force field or any phase field). The Avenger PA is better but extremely rare...
On Rifts Earth I love the IPA-40 Dai-Katana Bugei (fast, flying, close combat light PA with built-in weapons) and the IPA-50 Grenadier heavy power armor (short range walking tank with automatic grenade rifle). These are bot the best in their category, but their style and abilities are awesome.

Flying PA - CS Special Forces Samas. Fast Armoured. A mini missiles. Lots of mini missiles.
Ground PA - Samson. Workhorse infantry unit that is fast and capable to do so much.
Robot Vehicle - Ultimax (Don't care how small it is it is not a PA ). It's just badass.

Re: What Is Your Favorite Power Armor/Mecha
Since this has turned into a top three list, in no particular order, my favourite Power Armours are:
1. Flying Titan Power Armour. It was small, fast (real fast, leave a SAMAS in the dust), light, and it could fly HIGH. It did everything I wanted a power armour to be able to do, could stay away from heavy firepower, has a lot of firepower in it's missiles, and was one good energy rifle away from being perfectly equipped.
2. CS SAMAS. Just awesome, the perfect evolution of infantry, because that's what it was. You had a tech-upped assault rifle, the next step in grenades (mini-missiles), rock solid armour, better stats, and provided your own manueverability. Flying 20-50 ft off the ground, jet assisted jumps, you run circles around problems. for the cost of one Glitter Boy Killer the CS could have gotten 11(!) original Samas. For their plan of using 2 GB Killers per Glitterboy, you could have been using nearly TWO DOZEN Samas. Heck, for the cost of a Skelebot, the CS can produce a Samas, fully armed. Why are ALL CS troops not in SAMAS? I realize I am kind of beating a dead horse at this point, and my math could be off, as I have been up for awhile, but I am pretty sure CS War Campaign costs mean that the CS could produce over 40(!) Samas for a single Skull Smasher, and again, it's hard to think of a situation where that Skull Smasher comes out on top, either vs the Samas directly or against a shared enemy.
3. CS Striker Samas. Next logical step in SAMAS. Yeah, the Super is awesome if you want to give up all of your advantages to fight the enemy on their terms and probably win, but it's hard to argue that 2 Stiker Samas with Heavy weapons wouldn't beat a Super flat out.

Since everyone is doing a top three, I will add my second and third.
2) The X-10 Predator from Triax in Source Book One, it was everything that the SAMAS was plus unlimited ammo.
3). The Wild Weasel SAMAS from New West. The ability to man frequencies in combat should not be overlooked.

Favorite robot is the Super Veritech S. So many missiles, and so fast. Unfortunately ammo-dependent.
Favorite PA is a toss up between the CS Special Forces Samas and the NG Red Hawk.

My first choice would be the Solar Combat Armor from SA2. Plasma field and bursts, flight, and a rail gun? Sign me up!
Second choice is a fully modified Ulti-Max. Just picture the kinds of horribleness that a decent Techno-Wizard and Operator pair can do with a weapons platform like the Ulti-Max.

So close, yet so far away...
SAMAS. They're mocking you for the U, not the punctuation.
SAMAS is a Rifts power armour suit.
Samus Aran is the heroine of Metroid.

If I thought you wouldn't be able to handle a little ribbing, I wouldn't have done that and I apologize if I hurt you're feelings.

Hehe I am a big fan of the solar combat armor too although it just screams all your heat seeking missiles are belong to me!
Re: What Is Your Favorite Power Armor/Mecha
It's also nice to have a full on suit of power armour you can 'wear' from within another suit of power armour. Not active, of course, but in terms of a bail-out suit, it's hard to do much better.

Some time whe. Not all the players show up at my game im going to do a side project and basicly let thoose that show up save their game and fight like 3 or 4 pc's vs 6 chipwell warmongers and see if they can do the job.
I have a feeling the warmongers are going to win, but ill give a "prize" to the pc's if they pull if off.
Honestly i think for the price a small kingdom would run a crap load of these.
