Fun and Interesting Character Concepts

Unread post by Bill »

Please share what you would consider to be an inherently fun and interesting, not necessarily powerful or complicated, combination of race and/or class.

I'm toying with the idea of putting together a mutant lion/big game hunter. Not only does it sound like a fun character to play to me, I like the irony of a big game animal becoming a big game hunter. :clown:

I am actually playing Rifts at the moment, not GMing it.

I like very simple concepts, so I play Natalie Daaé, a Human Vagabond with minor psionic ability from Free Quebec ,who happens to love her nation, despite them not loving her for her psionic potential. Her main object of travelling is to actually write a fact book about this new world as the books of Erin Tarn is so opinionated that it borderlines on propaganda. I do not know why, but I have always loved playing from an underdog perspective playing the weak classes, the lesser races in order to use my own mind and ideas to overcome problems and enigmas my GM gives me - instead of relying on supernatural powers, almost god-like attributes or super powers.

At the moment, I have written (in RL) about Free Quebec, a made up town called St Joan just outside Free Quebec, where she comes from, and her travels down with her friend, an upper-class med-student inside the fortress city of free Quebec, down to the city Old Bones, where she met a dog boy cyberknight who saved their lives and this far they have been to Willisburg, Providence and Mechanicsville and travelled down to Unity.

My little vagabond has Professional levels of Creative Writing and Drawing and at the moment i think I have written her in-game diary that is almost 22 pages in words by now. We have talked about making a website, but as none of us are good at it, we decided against it in the end.

On Saturday, we will travel along the Lake Ontairo towards Lazlo, the RElic and the other places around there and see what the fuzz is with that and why Erin Tarn see this as a paradise on earth, but before that we will .stop at New Hope and look into that place.

winning isnt a some of the time thing. its an all the time thing. we dont win...once in a while.
we dont do the right thing...once in a while.
we do the right thing...all of the time.
winning is a habit.

Had an idea for a Cyber-Knight who's forced to get a partial bionic conversion due to injuries. Now he must work as a merc to pay off the bionics, and tries to keep his background to himself. His inner conflict comes from honoring his promise to pay back the loan, plus working in good faith for his merc employer, versus his own code of honor. Not too mention that every once in while the psi-sword comes out as a reflex action.
