The major killer for me is the date. I have a kids Bday on the 26th and Halloween at the end of the month. I'd be way more likely to go in May, even if it wasn't a Pally only event.

Truthfully, June would be better. At least kids would be out of school for that and any that are there with parents won't be missing any days.

June is a good month, but I think the problem with that was that there was no A/C in the Warehouse. I think that was the reasoning for doing it before the summer.

Heck, I am willing most people wouldn't mind running down to the store and buying a fan or two to help air move about the warehouse.

It is more than that. A couple hundred gamers, who don't tend to be small people in a hot Warehouse sounds slightly unpleasant at best. I don't have a problem with the heat as I have never weighed even 150. I think it would require more than a few fans to move air. I don't live in the area, but it was gettin warm up in there at the beginning of May. Over a month later and humidity as well as heat is most likely a problem.

I see in the newest press release they stopped saying "No Open House in 2013 or 2014". I don't think it means what we want it to, as I think they are calling Detroit Fanfare the new Open House.

To tell the truth, if the Detroit Fanfare is now going to be their Open House (which is indicated in the new Murmur), I might have to settle for going to GenCon starting next year.

Which is counter to what they are going for. I hope it pans out but right now it looks like they may only have a handful of people and that isn't enough to sustain something like the Fanfare year after year.

As I has predicted...as the great pre....

Palladium Open House in 2015

We are seriously thinking about hosting a POH in 2015. The Detroit Fanfare is only a two-day event (Saturday and Sunday). That’s cool, but it’s only two days. And as fun and nice at it may be, it’s not the same intimate setting as the true Palladium Open House held at the Palladium warehouse all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And for 100 people, VIP Thursday as well. We’re thinking Detroit Fanfare will be nice for the years we don’t host the event at Palladium, but every two or three years, the Palladium Open House should come home. Right now, we’re thinking April or May 2015. This is tentative, but we are leaning strongly in that direction. More on this in future Updates as we firm up our plans, but I think it’s safe to start making tentative plans.
