I don't remember the weight difference, but remember that the CP-40 also has the ability to connect to outside cannisters with it's port.

Lost Seraph wrote:Now that the C-12 has a 6d6 pulse burst setting, and contains more shots with the energy canister, is there a reason to use the CP-40? Or should it do more damage, so we have a progression from decent rifle to better rifle?
The C-12's current stats (AFAIK) are that it does 2d6 per shot, or 4d6 MD on a burst of three shots.
RUE 258, 2nd printing.

Errata prior to 2nd printing corrected it.
I am very opinionated. Yes I rub people the wrong way but at the end of the day I just enjoy good hard discussion and will gladly walk away agreeing to not agree

Re: C-12 and CP-40
Also the CP-40 is a pulse while the C-12 is a burst. So the CP-40 gets half the strike bonus when pulsing.

We had real books not PDFS and we carried them on carts we pulled ourselves that we built by hand. We had Thaco and we were happy. If we needed dice we carved ours out of wood. Petrified wood just because we could.

Not to be nit picky but what is the source for that? As far as I know you get no bonus for "pulsing", only for "bursting"

Check RUE, page 361, Weapon Modifiers, Rapid-Fire Pulse.
No penalty for pulse (it counts as a single blast not as a burst) unless the pulse is a called or aimed shot (in this case halve the strike bonuses).

Ah ok I thought he was referring to halving the "burst" bonus. My bad.
