Staking female Vampires and the Bones of the matter
When staking the female gender version of a vampire have a penalty since they have a different external Biology? On super natural to stake a female vamp one of the hunters needed to aim bellow the rib for better accuracy.
Would the rib bone be tougher than a wooden stake? If so then Would the stake would need to piearce through the individual rib bones?

There is no difference between staking male and female vampires. If there was, the books would have said so.

The only difference would be with non-human possessed bodies that the Vamp. Intel. splinter essence inhabits. It's heart might be in a different place.

Last time I checked, breasts don't award a defensive bonus against sharp, mallet driven objects.

Depends if they are wearing a chainmail bikini. Then use plate mail AR.

Touché! The chainmail bikini is CLEARLY the superior defensive solution for any combat situation.

LOL! I was thinking mostly of melee weapons..but point taken since most vamps don't were armor..but after reading this some GM will have Chain mail bikini clad vampires.
The rib bones may be a hindrance, but you can strike from the softer stomach area and aim up or a slender piece of wood through rib spaces if needed..so no worries on that.

Re: Staking female Vampires and the Bones of the matter
GM: Okay, so you both make it down into the vampire crypt. Both of you open the coffins. Jim, you find a female vampire. Ben, you get a male vampire.
Jim: A female vampire? Are there any penalties to staking?
GM: What?
Jim: I mean different external biologies could complicate the matter.
GM: Um ... you know what, roll a save vs. cleavage.
Ben: A what?
GM: Well, he's standing over her chest looking down ...
Jim: Cool! What do I roll and what's the target number?
GM: D20. You can add in your M.E. bonus. Targer number? Um ... her P.B. attribute. In this case ... *Rolls* ... 14.
Jim: Psionic or Insanity?
Ben: Insanity has a higher bonus.
GM: Well, you'd have to be crazy to look at a vampire's cleavage, so sure, save vs. insanity.
Jim: *Roll.*
GM: 12 ... ouch. You're hypnotized by her breasts.
Ben: I look at Jim's character and shout, "What are you doing?!"
Jim: "It's not my fault! It's cleavage ... I can't look away. "
Ben: "Looking at cleavage is like looking at the sun. You don't stare at it. It's too risky! You get a sense of it and you look away."
GM: *Roll.* The female vampire wakes up. She doesn't appear happy about the ogling. Jim, roll Horror Factor, 12 or higher.
Jim: *Roll.* 15!
GM: A woman being mad because you're staring at her cleavage doesn't seem to shock you. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. You snap out of your gaze.
Jim: Sweet! I stake her!
GM: Roll initiative.
Greetings and Salutations. Hopefully the above scene didn't offend anyone, just where my mind went via the original post. Thank you for your time and patience, please please have a nice day. Farewell and safe journeys to all.

Re: Staking female Vampires and the Bones of the matter
skeletally, the main difference between men and women is found mostly in the hips. the rest of the skeleton is slightly different in morphology, but pretty much the same. the rib cage of women is not noticeably stronger or weaker than that of men.
and breasts are mostly fatty tissue, they wouldn't really make it harder to stake a vamp.

Re: Staking female Vampires and the Bones of the matter
This is a random, interesting article I found while trying to find a quick reference on how to locate the heart.
"Between the fourth and fifth rib on their left side, err closer to the sternum" doesn't really help when feeling around to count the ribs or just plain guessing wrong are equally likely to get your face torn off. Having an easy to locate aim point would be useful. The train of thought was that, while the underlying structure may be the same, a female vampires would have a larger variation in (and mobility of) certain surface features which would make the use of certain reference points more error prone. Having thought about it more it probably isn't as big of an issue.
But that is kind of an interesting article.
