Specific small merchant ship/ cargo carrier

Unread post by ScrapDaddy »

Has anyone built a ship similar to the Serenity for RIFTS?
I'm looking for a small cargo/merchant ship, more or less.
I'm playing a Space Wolfen Cosmo-Knight that is posing as a freelance cargo pilot.

Thanks in advance all-

Or maybe a Techno Wizard conversion of a C-130 or something?

Are you looking for spaceship or ship ship hehe? If you are looking for space ship there are a couple examples or runner ships from various phase world books although the main books tend to be more military and less cargo/mercenary transport.

If you have some of the older rifters I think rifter 34 or maybe 35 has a runner ship generation table for phase world which is a really nice slick way of setting up a good firefly/millenium falcon type of ship.

Thanks Kaid- A buddy in our group has most of the Rifters, so I could thumb through them and build away.
I just discovered Kitsune's page, Great resource for most types of vehicles.

I'm looking for a space ship, but I thought that a modified Golden Age C-130 or other large aircraft would be pretty sweet.

I will post whatever I build though, I don't mind to share!!

Not to be mean or anything, but wouldn't this make more sense in the Rifts: Dimension Books forum? I imagine (since I rarely venture there having no interest in dimensions out side of North America) that there are a number of fan made space craft.

Apologies if this was the wrong place to post. However, Thanks to leading me to the correct Rifter (34), I now have a ship that meets my needs.
Hopefully it will meet the need of others.

We are currently under the employ of Nicholas, Son of Alexander, AKA Santa Claus, in Winterland.
He sponsored the construction of this ship, In his personal workshop, 70 years ago for his personal errands.
It has now been gifted to the Cosmo-Knight Abrastus Erebus, who pilots the craft as his cover story.

Winter's Solstice, Light Cargo Freighter/Transport

120 ft long, 330 tons unloaded, +2 to dodge
Cargo capacity- 50 tons (should be 100, but half of cargo capacity is used for living quarters)
Comfortable living quarters for eight guests and two crew
Brig capacity for two large humanoids, with forcefield, remote surveillance and physical restraints.

MDC by location-
Main Body- 2,650
Cockpit- 720
Engines-1200
Comms Array- 360
Shields- 2400

Weapons Systems- +4 to strike
Retractable HI Laser Cannons, Double Barrel, Forward Mount
Range of 3mi in space, 2mi in atmosphere
Damage 2d6x10 single cannon, 4d6x10 if fired in concert
Point Defense HI Laser Cannons x4, Single Barrel
Range of 2mi in space, 1mi in atmosphere
Damage 1d6x10 ea

Comms/Sensor Array-
High End Military- Can pick up ships traveling at sublight speeds up to 240,000 miles away, or ships traveling at FTL up to 10 lightyears away

Flight Capabilities
Sublight- Max Speed of Mach 8 in space, Mach 1 in atmosphere
FTL- 5ly per hour in space, N/A in atmosphere

Extras
Small Vehicle Bay in belly of craft, sized for nothing larger than a contemporary humvee
6 hidden compartments- 4 are 4x4x2 (ft) 2 are 6x6x4 (ft)
Advanced Targeting Systems
Modular Docking System

This is according to my math, which is likely flawed in a small way, but works for me and my GM.
Thanks to all who helped thus far!!
