Palladium Fantasy 30th Anniversery Hardcover is in !

Unread post by AlexM »

Palladium Fantasy®, 2nd Edition Hardcover arrived from the printer yesterday and we have been signing books like mad men to get this beautiful edition into your hands. As soon as we get everyone to sign all the books (by Friday) they will be shipped out to everyone who has placed a standing order. Some of the pre-orders may start to ship out as soon as Friday and the rest by Monday and Tuesday. The old “Crimson Edition” hardcover sells for $300-$500 on the secondary market. The new hardcover is likely to become a collector’s item as well. Note: This is the Palladium Fantasy RPG, Second Edition, all exactly the same as the current printing. It is also sewn and glued.

Its only $40 bucks cool. I will add it with my red hardcover. FYI is there a way to ask Kevin to sign it?

Not sure, old boy. It's been advertised for a while. Even in the last Rifter I believe (wasn't it?). Somehow, I definitely heard about it a while back.

I have even heard about it (Thanks Zyanitevp)
and will be ordering this week.
It might not be a new book, but if this sells well, maybe just maybe we might get another release.

So, nothing new in it? It seams shame that he could added stuff to them...a GM's screen/shield. Something.

Greetings and Salutations. As Alex M said, "exactly" the same as the current printing. They didn't update anything. Note: I don't have my copy yet nor do I work in their offices, but this same question came up in the same situation with the HU2 Anniversary hardcover. However, depending on which printing you currently have, they may have updated it since then. Example: I know they fixed some mistakes from 1st Printing by 3rd Printing. If you have any particular mistakes in mind, I'll happily check my 6th Printing for you (that's the newest I have, and I think they might only be on 7th Printing now?). Maybe not the answer you expected, but hopefully helped. Thank you for your time and patience, please have a nice day. Farewell and safe journeys for now.

I really like how the book looks, it's a nice dark brown cover that goes with the green perfectly.

Just out of curiosity, what mistakes are in the core book?

I do like the kinda earth tones thing it has going on. I did catch something in my older printing the other day, can't remember what it was now though. It wasn't too important though whatever it was. I know beaked axe (which looks to me like a Bill Hook) is in the weapon section twice, once as 2 handed pole arm and once as a one handed spear.

lol,
I like in the steps of rolling up your character that you roll your stats as step one, then picking your race is step 4.

but ambiguities and copy pasted errors from previous versions. Just check the forums for discussions about the various parts of the book.

Spelling errors, stuff left out, incomplete sentences, stuff a real editor would catch.

I just got my #170 copy today. I am rather new to the Palladium company other than some exposure to Fantasy, TMNT and RIFTS in the 80's and 90's.

Since last year however, I am hooked. I love the system with all of its quirks, art, and volumes of source material. Originally I only had a 2nd hand copy of the 1st edition rules for fantasy. Now with the Aniv. edition I have also picked up copies of Monsters and Animals (along with it today), The Old Ones and High Seas has yet to arrive.

I am hoping to run my first game of Dead Reign this Tuesday night and use it as a gateway to Palladium Fantasy as well. :)

So what's the deal, are we going to start calling this the Emerald Edition (EE)?

Just ordered mine. I have an old copy of the main book dating back to the 90's I think. Wonder if anything has changed.
