Capture the Star Fortress
Assume that you are a powerful information broker. You have gathered through your vast network of connections the whereabouts of an intact Dominator Star Fortress. It is known that these planet-sized ships self-destruct when their masters are killed, so either the Dominator in control of the vessel is somewhere on board or will very shortly come looking for the would-be hijackers. Per DB13, one of these vessels has never been captured and almost nothing is known about them other than their grotesquely powerful armaments, which are easily capable of wiping out an entire fleet of ships, and their regenerative capacity, which makes them nigh indestructible.
You are assembling a team to capture this ship, who do you recruit for this mission? You may have ten or fewer specialists, plus undetailed support staff. What is your plan to penetrate the killer planet's defenses? How will you take control of the ship? What is your contingency plan for encountering a Dominator in the ship?
Caveat 1: Remember that the goal is to capture the vessel, not destroy it; so Cosmo Knights and other uncompromising heroes may not be appropriate to recruit for this mission (unless you have a contingency plan to double-cross them).
Caveat 2: Likewise, super-patriots that might turn over the prize to their own nation may be ill advised.

Lesseee...
Take a TW starship, under invisibility superior and either magically or with phase tech teleport a crack team of Techno-Wizards or similarly qualified Noro psychics, well equipped with gadgedts,
including psylite stuff. The aim is to disable the self-destruct mechanism and turn the internal defenses against the - now - former owner.
The detailed plan is then submitted to the support staff of Calirvoyance-capable "department of evaluation".

But still, one of the most basic rules for survival on any planet is never to upset someone wearing black leather - This is why protesters against the wearing of animal skins by humans unaccountably fail to throw their paint over Hell's Angels.

You need something capable of possessing the Dominator, either long enough to put him in a secure location or permanently.
Re: Capture the Star Fortress
Interresting idea. Any suggestions? Also, if a dominator is possessed, does that change its brainwaves? That would set off the self-destruct.

From what I'm reading, the SDS is monitoring his brain waves, but doesn't activate unless the Dominator is killed. I'm interpreting that to mean the SDS is only looking for brain activity. I'm not sure that a Dominator would set the SDS in such a way that it goes off if he gets possessed. Doing so wouldn't allow him to be cured.

They probably don't worry about being possessed given how unlikely it is as well.
Fair warning: I consider being called a munchkin a highly offensive slur and do report people when they err in doing so.

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

Re: Capture the Star Fortress
If possession alters brain waves enough to initiate destruct that opens a can of worms... like what if a Dominator falls in love and changes so much that his machines no longer recognize him?
That's what happens when you chain up all those beautiful women, axe-guy!

Finding several good-looking ladies to capture for a guy his size can be quite the major quest, you know...
3G is not exactly big on the enlargment resources in the scale that might be required.
And now i'm imagining a Dominator with a stand full of people from many races paralyzed and dolled-up like a collection of garage kits.

so dominators are just collecting dolls and actions figures until they can find a fleet/planet of 50ft amazons?

Well, a guy needs a hobby to distract between the boring, lonely times when one is not raiding, marauding and such.
Nothing against a lady dominator making a harem or chattel of colossal beefcake of her own in spare time - or her work hours, whatever that is - either.
Re: Capture the Star Fortress
Use a Psi-tech to figure out what part of the ship monitors the brainwaves of the dominator. Disarm it so that when the brainwaves stop, it can't blow everything up. Alternatively, fool it somehow so that it never notices that the brainwaves stop.
Then convince the dominator to join your team. If he does, that's great. If he doesn't, then you can do away with him without everything blowing up.

I don't care about canon answers. I'm interested in good, well-reasoned answers and, perhaps, a short discussion of how that answer is supported or contradicted by canon.
If I don't provide a book and page number, then don't assume that I'm describing canon. I'll tell you if I'm describing canon.

Re: Capture the Star Fortress
Noro scientist, operator or machine person, phantom rcc, star child, phase adept, a few empowered humans, and ninja, and a rahman, young dragon, and at least on mind bleeder or noro psychic.
The idea is not to kill the dominator, the goal is to contail, with that in mind use an operator or machine person to take over the basic controls.
Use ninja and other powerful players to contain the dominator
And use temporal magic to put the dominator in stasis an then disarm the self-destruct and kill sleeping beauty

When I post an idea, game balance is my only concern. For rules see rule zero and for canon look at RUE PAGE 372. Only 2 questions need consideration is it fun? Is it balanced?
Gamblers fallacy:(Example): Coin flips are the most common example of the gambler's fallacy. For instance, in a game of heads or tails, many people will bet on tails if there have been several heads in a row.

Re: Capture the Star Fortress
Delivery of the team can be done with a phase equipped ship, but then the people of good alignment might want to set the BIOWA free from its captivity....
