I wanna say there is a post somewhere about how Nokia owns the rights to it, and has no interested in releasing it for anything else.

If not Nokia, whoever has the rights to it.

Sadly ownership rights and the ability to release for various platforms is much more complex than people like to give it credit for. I'm not sure what sort of agreement was signed for Promise of Power, hopefully it had some sort of auto-terminate clause after X years, if not, forget it ever existed, because it's never coming out on a Nokia.

Also given it was on a platform that was pretty different than the current platforms for cell phones it probably would be simpler to start from scratch with it than to reuse any of the old code.

It was a fun little game I would love to have it for my tablet.

I think it was unfortunately an idea a couple years ahead of its time. This kind of thing as an app now would have sold like hotcakes.

I don't actually think this was the problem of Promise of Power, since it wasn't really heralded as a phone game, and the N-Gauge was branded as a gaming platform that was a phone. People didn't (and don't), want a gaming platform that can be a phone, they want games their phone can operate. If Promise of Power was designed and released as a phone game, I've no doubt it would have (and would still) sell well if it got branded and advertised well (and was fun). But it got tied to the anchor that was the N-Gauge.

Ya not the N-Gage being ahead of its time the app. At the time there were a few phone games but they were pretty basic and the phones could not run very much. The N-Gage had pretty fast hardware for its time for a phone which allowed it to do better gaming. A few years after the N-Gage came out nearly all phones had the same horse power it had or more so it was pretty much a dead end hardware design but they were right on the money that people would want games on their phones.

... this is killing me.

It's not the "n guage". It was the N-Gage.

Perhaps if some petition were written up, Nokia might take notice.

You could always act the dissapointed customer with them - it's essentially saying 'we are angry with you unless you take our money', which often works with businesses - especially if hundreds or thousands of people do it.

Palladium don't own Promise Of Power, and they never owned Promise Of Power. Re-releasing it on another platform isn't their call to make.
