I don't recall ever seeing anything like that, but the only stuff from SA I ever really read up on were the gods, Megaversal Legion, the Arkhons, and the Blood Weeper and his crew.

Sure you're not thinking of the Cosmo-Knights mentioned in South America 2?

I have read both SA books pretty thoroughly, and don't remember any mention of machine people...
OTOH, I don't remember the cosmo knight either, would like to be reminded.

Re: Machine People on Rifts earth?
Outside of an HLS in one of the Adventure books that mentions some friendly androids setting up a community I've never seen mention of any Machine People anywhere on Rifts Earth (and about the only books I hadn't gotten are the ones for the West, Russia, and China). Definitely don't remember reading about any either in North or South America.
Fair warning: I consider being called a munchkin a highly offensive slur and do report people when they err in doing so.

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

The Cosmo Knight, i believe, is mentioned in the flavor text talking about the return of the SA gods, godlings and demigods to rifts earth after the return of magic to the world. In that they rifted there and one (or more) of their companions was a CK. I believe one CK took off to see what was in Orbit.....never to return.

Mutants in Orbit didn't seem to be enough to kill a Cosmo-Knight, must be something else lurking out there.

Re: Machine People on Rifts earth?
Dunno....maybe some background character in some fluff art looked like a Machine Person?

Cosmo Knights get mentioned on pg47 of SA2 in the bullet list for the Inca "Members of the Chosen".
There is a reference to the Machine People on pg111 of SA2 in the Men-Rall 'Tech Master' RCC: "A rumor links these creatures with the mysterious Machinists, a race that lived in the Three Galaxies universe, where they created the Machine People (see Rifts Dimension Book One: Phase World)." (Note DB1 is how it appears in the text, it should be DB2). That is the extant of the Machine People in SA AFAIK.

You may be misremembering, the only bit in SA1&2 that I know of that mentions the Machine People is as a rumor connected with the Megaversal Legion's Men-Rall RCC on pg111 of SA2. If there is another connection in SA1&2 books I didn't see it when I skimmed both books last night.
