Phase World Robot upgrades.

Unread post by say652 »

Trying to compile a list of Phase World upgrades that could be added onto a Fifty foot tall, one hundred and Fifty ton Giant Robot.

Currently other than being Massive the Triax Devastator is rather underwhelming, successfully getting one to Phase World how can the Robot be upgraded to compete with the current Phase World robots? ?

You could do that...or you could get yourself a Battleram off the black market and save yourself a lot of trouble.

The Battle Ram is listed as CCW specific only, the Devastator is already in Possession, a work with what you got thing.

Do the Phase World books have a section for such a thing?

I would think this is a golden opportunity. You should be able to get a Heavy Naruni force-field installed, and change the power supply to one of the phase world systems. Maybe some anti-grav tech added in? Definitely upgrade all the weapon systems to phase world equivalent.

They do not. There are ship building options, costs for adding force fields to robots, even costs for modifying e-clips to be compatible with earth equipment, but no details on building or modifying giant robots. About the closest you'll find is a note indicating that bionics and cybernetics are 20% cheaper. I suppose that a generous GM could apply that cost adjustment to the SB1 robot construction rules and extrapolate them out to the higher damage and M.D.C. potentials native to the Three Galaxies.

Ok compiled list of upgrades.

The weapons deal 2d4×10md, that's good enough.

Robot speed 40mph, +20% up to 48mph.

Heavy force field 320Mdc, with the option to later purchase actual Starship Force fields.

Flight system 200mph Contra Gravity, again with the option to later increase to acceptable levels.

Just buy a Silverhawk.

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

With that force field passing technology, I think not.

Naruni goodies would be interesting.

Micro Missiles (how many could you fit on that sucker?)
Gravity Wave Sensor

What about the "big" guns being replaced by something like the Silverhawk's Multi-Rifle? Even a double barrelled version?

The larger Phase Beamer as anti infantry guns in place of the Ion gun?

Just a few thoughts. The force field upgrade would be a must.
