Cloud of Slumber in Heart of Magic
I noticed something weird in Mysteries of Magic Book 1: Heart of Magic:
*page 83 describes this as a second-level wizard spell costing 6 PPE same as the level 1 Air Warlock spell on page 221 of PF2
*page 86 describes this as a seventh-level wizard spell costing 17 PPE same as the level 2 Air Warlock spell on page 221 also
Which is the correct level and PPE for the spell Cloud of Slumber? This is a core spell for Wizards and pretty much the only one with potential combat use, seems important.

Re: Cloud of Slumber in Heart of Magic
As an Air Elemental Spell it is a level one spell. as per the PF2 MB page 221.
Therefor, I have taken the 7-2 as a typo.
As a Wizard spell 6 PPE.

May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.
Each question should be give the canon answer 1st, then you can proclaim your house rules.

Second level costing 6 ppe. Cloud of Slumber is a level 1 Air Warlock spell, not a level 2 air warlock spell. lot of mage class start with it so I don't see it being a level 7 spell.

Re: Cloud of Slumber in Heart of Magic
My manuscript had it as a level 2 Wizard spell, costing 6 PPE, or a level 1 Air Warlock spell, costing 4 PPE.
I do not know the reason for the other version.

Mysteries of Magic 3 owes us a "Greater Cloud of Slumbering" with these state maybe? Given it is a base spell you'd figure wizards would be fond of it and want to improve upon it.

Re: Cloud of Slumber in Heart of Magic
Well, here's another Cloud of Slumber question. How opaque is the cloud? Can people see through it, or into it? If so, how far?

"Just curious."

Re: Cloud of Slumber in Heart of Magic
My house ruling is the cloud is opaque but visible and gives -1 to hit things through it as they will be a bit blurry.

I have it visible but not effectively impeding vision.

I originally had it blocking line of sight because it does call it a cloud, and most clouds aren't see through, but the ranged weapon users complained (and usually started arguing with the wizard whenever he went to cast it) so I just gave it a small negative.
Re: Cloud of Slumber in Heart of Magic
Strangely, even Cloud of Smoke only describes those INside the cloud as being unable to see and doesn't list penalties for those outside of it.

What sort of Greater'ness would you all expect a CoS greater to have?

Re: Cloud of Slumber in Heart of Magic
Probably just better range/duration, maybe a -1 to save.
