Space Herpies?

Unread post by dragonfett »

So I was running a Phase World game tonight when the players were discussing how they could stop an enemy ship, when one of them suggests Space Herpies...

Looks like one of them's watched Ice Pirates.
Fair warning: I consider being called a munchkin a highly offensive slur and do report people when they err in doing so.

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

On the obscure end, probably a B movie at best, but got plenty of great moments for humor and tragedy, the only problem of course the basic premise since apparently acquiring some of the gigatons of water that's in space never occurred to anyone. But to be fair a lot of science-fiction has revolved around aliens inexplicably being unable to do the same and attacking earth for water.

The only thing dumber than attacking the Earth for water is... attacking the Earth when you're allergic to water.

Yeah, I'm still bitter about Signs. :ugh:

Roscoe: Box B-28

Jason: 28?... 25, 26, 27... B28... oh no

[hands egg to Roscoe]

Roscoe: What is it?

Jason: Space Herpe.

Roscoe: herpe?

Jason: Dormant form. uh - Keep away from heat and - uh - moisture. Extremely dangerous when activated. Antibody - oh boy - unknown.

The Clones are coming you shall all be replaced, but who is to say you have not been replaced already.

Soon my army oc clones and winged-monkies will rule the world but first, must .......

I may debate canon and RAW, but the games I run are highly house ruled. So I am not debating for how I play but about how the system works as written.

I will be honest, I thought this thread was about how to incorporate space STDs into Rifts.

Personally I'd walk away. It's pretty bad....only the fact that it makes some aside effort at self-conscious humor keeps it from sinking to the same levels as, say, Star Crash....

YES, watch it. Then watch it again & mock every second of it. It's so horribly bad it has it's charms.
Does anyone know if it ever go the MST3K/RiffTrax treatment?

'Plan 9' was done by a guy who KNEW he created over-the-top bad movies. He was the Florence Foster Jenkins of cinema. His past record gave his movies a sort of train-wreck attraction.

Plan 9 is so awesomely bad, as to be good. It's.... breathtaking in how horrible it is. A true masterpiece.
