I found Tallspire!
I have managed to locate the Dwarven fortress of Tallspire, which, as we know, "the castle Tallspire was never captured,
despite three separate sieges against it... the castle sustained minimal damage during the course of the war, and it is assumed that its remains are in reasonably good shape even today." (Bletherad, 145)
From these clues, and by comparing the surface cites of the Dwarven Empire with those from A History of the Dire Conflict, I have determined that Tallspire is the eastern-most city in the Old Kingdom (see Bletherad, page 135, directly under the "a" in the words "Dwarven Empire") It is sieged three times, and finally falls only 600 years before the war's end. By the conflict's end, it is abandoned/forgotten about.
So, one Old Kingdom mystery down...

If that doesn't prompt you to buy it, I don't know what else I can say.

So... one issue/call for clarification...
Did it never fall, or did it fall 600 years before the end of the war.
Cant be both.

Re: I found Tallspire!
Apparently, it never fell to a siege per se... a traitor opened the gates and the elves poured in and slaughtered everyone. The structure, however, remained intact to this day and is likely being used by barbarous subhumans.

Re: I found Tallspire!
I mean, ive never read most of the info, but “never fell” would seem to preclude falling for any reason, betrayal from within or not.
“Was never successfully besieged” is probably a better description (i dont know if you were quoting the book(s) directly or paraphrasing).
If you werent paraphrasing, then the book(s) contradict themselves (as one passage would clearly say “never fell”, which is pretty absolute and precludes even betrayal from within, and one passage says “well it fell (due to betrayal)”).
Not that outright contradictory information is in any way odd for Palladium.

It depends on how the information is presented. History is full of contradictory information so if it is listed as legend or history in one spot and then as game facts in another.

Makes sense, especially if there is (or was) water nearby.

Huh. Maybe I should do an elf/dwarf wars series of maps once I finish the regional Palladium ones.

That seems like an awesome idea.

Agreed, I believe there are some in Library of B. but not sure about that. Nice color ones or ones that look like ancient maps you might find so I can print them for my players.

Well, I tried my hand at something like a strategy board game design with the Western Empire map. An Elf/Dwarf wars map/game could be fun.
