RIFTS video game

Unread post by RisenFlames »

So, I was thinking that the Palladium Books team should team up with Bethesda to create a RIFTS rpg game using the Fallout: New Vegas system and mechanics. I'm currently playing New Vegas and I keep thinking about how cool it would be to be running around in the world as a Ley Line Walker. Just a thought from a dedicated nerd...

I don't see that sort of thing in the cards, but if people happened to develop a free mod for some platform I could see it getting some off-hand support.

It will be a long time before they start on a new IP. Between working on a new Elder Scrolls game and the Fallout series, it will be a while until they even start to think about another new IP.

Devolver Digital might be a better bet, as they know better writers who will get the game out on time

I would prefer to see CD Project Red tackle it. They took the Cyberpunk 2020 RPG and made an amazing game in Cyberpunk 2077. It had a rough start but they learned a lot and the final product is absolutely fantastic.

So I got informed by the newsletter that there is an update on the remake for "Rifts Promise of Power Reforged". Is there any information other than the pretty vague splash screen the Backerkit link? I thought I would never see a Rifts game so I am pretty happy to see it coming, even if its 20 years late. The hype page didn't mention any non-human races so it may not be as neat as it sounds.

It looks like they are just updating the game. Though it would be nice if they could add more to it too.

I heard on Legion of Myth that it would be possible with DLC's for the game. So if this ends up a success we could be in for a treat for a long time. :)

As in just making the old school graphics work on currenet systems? If so that would be disappointing. I have trouble going back and playing games I loved like Fallout 1 and Baldur's Gate 1 just because the old graphics and GUI are so dated.

Apetaly not. It looks like they are upgrading the graphics also. And they more money they get, the better updated they will the graphics.
